My husband and I stayed at Grand Slam last week during a last-minute birthday getaway in the Playa del Carmen area. We are both avid fresh water trout fly fishermen, but had never fly fished in saltwater before. We booked a day of fishing at Grand Slam on a whim, and ended up staying two days, as Grand Slam did... 5 years ago, my aunt and mom attempted the drive to Punta Allen in an Atos - a compact car. Needless to say, the got stuck about half way there, the car flood up to its windows and never made it. Last month my aunt was visiting us and we rented a Jeep (which is a must) and Viola -... More

There are two fishing lodges in Punta Allen. Helpfully, they each are named Grand Slam so you can tell them apart. Club Grand Slam is a simple place for people who just want to fish. We didn't stay there. The Grand Slam Fly Fishing Lodge is more like a hotel, with a number of guest houses, a pool and a... More

We did a daytrip to sian ka'an and ended up in punta allen. Looking arround for a spot to eat, I did prefer a place with a nice beach in front and a menu not limited to seafood. We just went in the Grand Slam, which is obviously a Hotel - but the advertisment in front did include "Restaurant&Bar". Guess... More

My sister, father, husband and I spent 3 nights at the lodge earlier this May and have nothing but great things to say about the grounds, accommodations and amazing staff. We arrived at Cancun airport and our driver was there within minutes, to take us to the dock about 1.5 hours away to get our boat to the lodge. The... More

I recently and mistakenly wrote a review for what I thought was the Grandslam Fly Fishing Lodge in Punta Allen. I didn't realize that there was another fly fishing resort at Punta Allen called Club Grand Slam, and unfortunately, my review got filed as a review of Club Grand Slam, when it should have been about Grandslam Fly Fishing Lodge.... Great Staff, Food and Accommodations. 45 to 90 minute boat ride one way to fishing flats this time of year. I am an experienced West Coast Steelhead fisherperson. This was my first salt water trip for bone, tarpon, permit and snook. Two fishermen and a senior and wantabe guide per boat which was a Real Plus. Disappointed in how much... More

Just got back from a week of angling at Grand Slam Lodge in Punta Allen with family and friends and frankly everything about the lodge exceeded our expectations. For a fishing lodge the rooms are fairly deluxe and plenty spacious with king size beds and a nice sitting area. The balconies all have hammocks, a Bali bed and a rod... More

I spent 4 and a half days here at the end of March. This is a fabulous place!!! The staff lead by General Manager Miguel Encalada are very attentive and guest focused! In the center of the resort is the restaurant / lounge. The buildings north or south of the restaurant contain the guest accommodations. I had a second floor... More

I have finally gotten round to reviewing this place after putting it on the long finger. I went there with my wife on honeymoon last year. The room, upstairs in a villa, was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. It was beautifully decorated and wonderfully spacious. The complimentary bites with drinks before dinner were always delicious and... More
