My daughter and I spent time in Playa Del Carmen and then headed down to Tulum for six nights. We stayed at this palapa resort and unfortunately we didn't realize there was a seaweed problem in Tulum. It wasn't as bad in Playa. Because of this, it became very difficult to stay at the resort because it was stifling hot,... More

I recently returned from a week long stay at Hotel Calaluna, and by recently I mean I only returned yesterday, and I'm already dreaming about my next visit! This place is not a resort in the best way possible! The hotel consists of charmingly rustic, beach-front bungalows. You can literally walk two feet from your door and be on the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the place. Beachfront cabana heaven. Close to lots of bars, shops and restaurants. Great breeze, eco friendly, helpful staff and beautiful rooms. No ac and the Internet isn't too strong in your room but that didn't bother us!

The hotel was easy enough to find with Google maps guiding my wife and I. This was our first stop in Mexico. We got to the hotel at around 8:30pm. Parking wasn't a problem for us. There are a few parking slots, across the road from the hotel for the few people who decide to drive a rental. Jorje the... More

We stayed in the Royal King suite and loved it! The room had fan, outlets and had hot water. We spent a lot of time on our private patio enjoying the views and the sound of the ocean from the hammock. The breeze from the ocean kept the mosquitoes away. The breakfast was was simple (eggs or pancakes, yoghurt, granola... More

We stayed at CalaLuna last week for 3 nights in the Royal Room. Excellent stay, beautiful cabanas right on the beach, we just loved our room and our own terrace. The staff is super friendly, breakfast is simple but good ( + always served with a big smile). No AC in the room but the fan makes it ok to... More

We stayed in the quadruple room for a week at the beginning of the rainy season. Despite an average day time temperature above 30 degrees Celsius, at night 28, and no air con, sleeping was still fine due to the very comfortable beds and huge fans. Also be aware in the rainy season the beach conditions can be rough, windy... More

Stayed here for a week last month. Staff was extremely friendly, room was clean, and the view from the balcony was amazing. Complimentary breakfast was good with fresh squeezed juices every morning. Located right on the beach with plenty of lounge chairs (although shade may be more difficult to come by) and I could even get the wifi signal out... More

If you are NOT looking for one of those big "all inclusive" hotels, but rather a more intimate experience....this is your place. My husband and I just returned from the most relaxing vacation at the Calaluna. We stayed in the Royal Room which was right on the beach. The room was perfect ( a private bathroom with a huge shower... More

Third time in tulum, and although it is changing for the worse (more expensive, more businesses, more traffic, fewer secluded spots, beds and chairs along the beach that state it is only for guests) most places are still great experiences, and calaluna is no exception. My wife loved it, and we needed the additional comforts of hot water, clean sheets,... More
