It is somewhat confusing to read the some of the negative reviews... We stayed at Las Ranitas in May 2007 (See my earlier review....May 2007 jherman06 Atlanta)...Had such a wonderful time in every way that we've been waiting for the first opportunity to return for two years! This secopnd visit was the most blissful, idyllic and playful vacation we've had... more

Febrary 2009 visit to the eco–chic Las Ranitas. We stayed on the lower floor in room 15, next to the bar-lounge-restaurant area. A week's stay with our 5 year old. (Eco-chic translation – minimal electricity, hot water, no AC, no telephones, and little sleep.) On first glace, Las Ranitas appeared located on one of the most beautiful beaches I have... more

This place may have once been one of the best places to stay in Tulum, with cobblestone walkways instead of sand, beautiful lobby area, crystal clear pool, lovely rooms, a gracious staff overall, and a gorgeous stretch of beach. But I do NOT recommend it. Las Ranitas advertises a full service hotel with restaurant and internet service. They charge TOP... more

the beach is fabulous and they will surely make you feel like you are paying for it the room does not represent any interest it was a pain in the [--] to even get a bottle of water (as there isn t any bar in the room, they could have tried to make it simple to get one) anyway we... more

4 of us [2 couples] sayed here 4 nights and thought the 2 bedroom Casa Memo Suite was amazing. We'd booked premier bungalows [$190 room only and fairly expensive against the opposition] but, were upgraded on account of the closed restaurant [apparently], which we were not made aware of at time of booking. Nonetheless, a good selection of eateries is... more

Don't go to Tulum or Las Ranitas expecting a luxury experience. Frankly, its about as close to camping as I wish to get. The positives of our stay were the great beach location (the beach in front of Las Ranitas is swept daily - otherwise it would have been been trashy), generous room size, and great service, especially from Theresa.... more

A friend and I stayed here for a get-away in Nov. 2006 and could not have been happier. It is gorgeous with the traditional mexican decor touches. ABOVE ALL - the beach is perhaps the most amazing I have ever been to - and I have been to a lot! The owners were very helpful and kind and the staff... more

Las Ranitas is a magical place. I stayed there during the offseason and it felt like I had stumbled on to a lovely, forgotten luxury hotel at the edge of the jungle facing this magnificent (and practically empty!) powdery white sand beach. The grounds were beautiful, with meandering stone paths, a tennis court, 2 swimming pools and massage palapa. The... more

walked the length of the Tulum beach and Las Ranitas truly has one of the best stretches of beach. The hotel has a large, secluded section of the beach as well. I you are looking for a peaceful retreat then this is a great choice. Each of the cabanas have a hammock and most have a view of the ocean.... more
