Posada Yum Kin is a cool hotel with great style and is ecologically minded. We’ve traveled to many places and were impressed with PYK’s natural building materials and use of renewable energy sources. The courtyard felt Eden-like with its lush flora, soothing waterfall, parakeets and an amazing spiral staircase that led us upstairs to our marvelous tree top suite. Outside... more

From the moment I found Posada Yum Kin on trip advisor and talked to Dan I knew we would love it. Getting to Tulum we found the hotel with no problems. The owner was there and she was so helpful, she lent us a cooler, an umbrella for the beach and some legos and toys for the kids. We loved... more

Our family of four stayed at Posada Yum Kin for 5 nights in March. The owners were fabulous - loaned us equipment for our kids, pointed us to good local shops, just hung out and chatted and made us feel comfortable in every way. This is a small family run inn located on a quiet street in a neighborhood setting.... more

Duirng our trip to the Yucatan, we were busy from sun up to sun down looking for birds to photograph. We enlisted the bird guide services of Luis Ku Quinones from Motmot Birding Tours. He is a locat quide living in Cancun. My husband is a semi-professional bird photographer and he enjoys getting close up photographs of birds for scientific... more

Perfection in design and decor. Lots of natural beauty, primitive art, rooftop stargazing. Totally eco -minded, off the grid, solar, natural materials and amenities. Warm welcome, laid back vibe, but luxurious. Safe and secure in every respect. Kitchenette in a tree house, hammocks, balconies, banana trees in the courtyard, etc. Short car ride to Tulum Pueblo main street shopping, restaurants,... more

The hotel is a little hard to find but is totally worth the search. Absolutely beautiful rooms, decorated in excellent taste. excellent service. Even has a terrace on the third floor where you can see the parrots coming in from the island in the morning. All this while drinking freshly brewed local style coffee more

This was such a beautiful place to stay at. Our room was lovely and the main gardens were breathtaking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Be sure you rent a car otherwise you are quite far from the beach and downtown areas. Tulum is a great little bustling town. more

We had mixed feelings about PYK, and I really don’t want this to be too critical, because at another time of year I think it would have worked out great and we would have been delighted. We’re a family of 5, with 3 children, and have traveled in Europe and Asia, so we have some reasonable reference points. We stayed... more

PYK was a quiet little place off the beaten path but not far from downtown. It was simple and clean. The courtyard is even prettier than the photos. I loved the plants and natural wood furniture/decor. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. I would not recommend walking to downtown. Bikes and taxis are available but renting a car was great... more
