My wife and I stayed at this wonderful Hotel in Dec. 2008 and absolutely loved it. The entire staff is wonderful and were extremely friendly such as Hilcia at the front desk. Originally we planned on staying for only 2 days and planned to check in to an all inclusive. We checked in the large property and missed the Magic... more

First thing to note if booking this hotel. DO NOT BOOK THE TOP FLOOR ROOMS. These have high thatched ceilings and it is criminal people are booking these without any notice from the hotel that you may not get any sleep. As these ceilings are thatched you hear everything, the church bells all night, cards, trucks and the 2 opr... more

I stayed at Magic Blue in January with my husband for a friend's wedding. The wedding was taking place at an all inclusive that was beyond our budget so we chose a place that is a little bit more budget friendly. I'll start with the negatives and then end on a positive note. I have to agree with the other... more

Pluses include friendly, helpful staff. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately well-kept. Walking through the double doors off of 10th Ave. (a very busy street), we never failed to be bowled over by the sense of peace and serenity of the inner courtyard. Location is both a plus and a minus. Centrally located a block off of the Quinta pedestrian... more

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Magic Blue. This was our 4th stay in Playa in the last 3 years , previously at Acanto, Tortuga and Illusions. The hotel setting is very unique with a rooms set around facing a nice pool. Rooms were very well equipped (flat screen tv, fridge, large shower, sufficient wardrobe/draw space)..and no musty... more

I am an experienced traveller, 33 years old, 20+ times to Cancun, 3+ times to Playa. To say that the Hotel Blue Magic rooms in Playa are loud is an understatement. ALL of the upstairs rooms are so loud that you can't sleep, the downstairs rooms are slightly better but not much. I live in one of the top largest... more

Stayed at Magic Blue for two nights over the Christmas holidays 2008. It was okay but at $425 USD/night it was only average. Here are the pros and cons: Positive: Room is lovely and romantic with nice layout and design. The bed was also very comfortable. Outside the room was a nice little balcony with a nice couch to sit... more

This is a great little hotel. The rooms are large and modern, the bed was definately the most comfortable I have slept in. The room and the hotel grounds were kept spotlessly clean. We had turndown service every night with chocolates left on our pillows. Towels changed everyday sometimes twice a day. Reception and all staff were wonderful. The hotel... more

Great hotel in a great location. Went to Playa for New Years. We stayed in a top floor palapa suite the first night but asked to be moved because it was just too loud (you hear EVERYTHING off the street). Moved to first floor off the pool and everything was great. This is a strong 3 star hotel and although... more

This property is an oasis just a block from 5th avenue where the shops and restaurants are concentrated so you don't need a car. They have beach access just one block further. You can book a van from the airport from them directly. Breakfast is served in an adjacent restaurant with a nice selection of hot and cold foods and fresh... more
