My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Magic Blue in early June. We very much enjoyed our stay, and would stay here again any time. The pool is absolutely beautiful as well as the wonderfully landscaped grounds. Earlier review states the pool closed at 7PM. It was open until 9PM while we were there. Still would have liked... more

My boyfriend and I just returned from a 6 day stay with Magic Blue hotel and it was AMAZING!! Positives- The room was very clean and contemporary in design. Our room was cleaned daily and sometimes 2 times a day! The staff was very prompt and friendly with all encounters. We had requested a lower level room with a King... more

We were in Playa for a family wedding which took place at a nearby all inclusive resort. We wanted to see more than a resort property, and the Magic Blue was a perfect location for what we wanted. We thought the breakfasts at Ipanema's were great, and we looked forward to trying out different restaurants in the area. Our room... more

this is the worst hotel in the universe. i have traveled all over the world and never come across such bad hospitality. the showers have no water, and the room has NO light-it has ONE dim bulb. we put our make up in the dark, literally using our cellphones for light. they also dont have phones in the hotel and... more

I had never been to Mexico and after a very stressful year with the death of my daughter, my son took me to Playa del Carmen. We arrived at night and could barely see to walk around. I have RA and have some difficulty in walking especially steps with very little lighting.. Well, the manager took us up to the... more

We loved the Magic Blue. As others have mentioned, the rooms are a bit dark but we overcame this by going to Wal-Mart and buying flourescent bulbs. You might want to pack a couple and be ready. Otherwise, the AC is cool, the rooms are very clean, and the bed is comfortable. Note: The rooms have only one chair, but... more

My wife and I stayed at the Magic Blue for 9 days in Feb. The Magic Blue is a beautiful hotel located very centrally to the 5th street mall (where all the shops and restaurants are located), so it was a very convenient location for us to walk out and explore the beautiful playa scenery. As other people have mentioned... more

We stayed at the Magic Blue from 3/1 to 3/5. We had stopped into the hotel about a week earlier as we were staying at a nearby resort for the first week of our trip, and asked for a quiet room as we had read the previous reviews about the noise. We were told that rooms were assigned in such... more

A good choice for a stay in Playa del Carmen. Breakfast could be a bit better, but is ok. Great rooms, wonderful beds. Walking distance to the center, close to a disco (some noise). Please note that your room is as far as possible, or at ground level, in both cases, the noise is in the background, not disturbing. Super... more

My husband & I stayed at the Magic Blue over the President's Weekend holiday. I was very satisfied with the hotel overall. We asked for a quiet room via expedia and we got a lower level room. The room was very quiet, not at all noisy hotel like some other reviewers said. The Coco bango club across the street was... more
