We stayed at the Riu Palace from Oct. 29 to Nov. 5th. After reading numerous reviews before leaving I was a little worried about the service and food to expect but it all turned out great. We travel to a sunny destination at least once per year with our last trips being the Iberostar Lindo in the same area, as... More

My wife and I recently returned from a weeks vacation at the Riu Palace Riviera, and it was even better than we had hoped. First, we were given a free upgrade to an inside room. That did a lot to make our holiday because we spent a great deal of time on the balcony taking in the view and having... More

My wife and I have returned after a 5 night stay at the Riu Palace Maya Riviera. We read a million of these reviews before going -- all I can say is that most of the negative reviews did have some sort of accuracy to them, but in looking back at them now they are so trivial that I can't... More

We just returned from celebrating our 37th anniversary. Hotel is beautiful as well as grounds/beach. Beds are way too firm and rooms, while lovely, have a musty smell. Food is good and huge variety but gets boring. Staff including housekeeping are wonderful but front desk lack attention. Need more and better activities/entertainment. Pools need to be cleaned more often. Best... More

I did have high expectations prior to my trip. I went there with my kids and enjoyed every moment of our stay at this resort. Service was impecable - everyone was very attentive to any andevery need. Pool was great especially swim-up bar where they even served non-alcoholic drinks to my kids. Weather forecast was horrible but we had heavy... More

Me and my numerous family stayed 8 days in this wonderful resort. We arrived and had some problems with the rooms that were not well booked, but after solving that everything was just great! The hotel is huge and nice (colonial but luxurious style), and the service is good. As we were so many we did not use the restaurant... More

We just got back from the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and overall, we had a fantastic time. We arrived early on the 21st and got home on the 28th. There were six of us - two couples and two single girls - there was plenty for us to do as a large group or in smaller groups. The hotel was... More

We stayed at the Riu Palace Riviera from October 20th-27th, 2006. I am a fussy traveller who expects a true five star experience to include quality lodging & also exemplary service. I am happy to report the Riu Palace surpassed expectations. The property is designed around a large courtyard, which features a very spacious outdoor bar and cafe style area.... More

Pat & Barry, Oakville, ON. We stayed at the RPRM Oct 16-23.We have stayed at other Riu's before but not a palace. This truly was a palace. We truly loved everything. Upon arrival they had a drink waiting for us, we had our welcome briefing immediately so we could get info/tips on everything. We arrived approx 12:00 noon and many... More

We stayed at the Riu from 10/15 thru 10/20. The hotel is very beautiful and conviently located near Playa Del Carmen. It's a ten minute walk from the hotel to the Cozumel ferry. The service was great. We were well taken care of while relaxing by the pool and beach or enjoying the nightly entertainment. The wait staff was very... More
