This was my second time to this hotel. My first visit in June 2006 for my honeymoon was great. We decided to return for our three anniversay with the same expectations, and even choose to stay 4 more nights. Our reservations were made in February, before the health scare, so we paid close to $4000.00. Our travel agent notified the... more

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend here. The entire hotel was beautiful! Beautiful lobby, pools, grounds, room, etc. The food was as good as any all inclusive resort that we have been to, and the drinks were even better. There were always available chairs on the beach and around the pool, but this could be due... more

Wow, where do I even begin, I guess at the beginning. My husband and I fell in love with the Riu hotels about 10 years ago, with our first visit. We spent most of our time in the Cancun area and decided this year we would try some where else. So like you I began reading all the reviews and... more

Why some of the picky complaints? The RIU Palace Riveira Maya looks like an elegant Spanish Palace. That's the syle and service they emmulated here. We are seasoned over 25 years of vacationing at All-Inclusive (AI) resorts. While we haven't attended any adult-only AIs, we can honestly say that this was the best so far. Others might have better kids... more

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful six night stay at this beautiful resort. I can honestly say this is the best resort I have ever been to. The resort is located in Playacar which is a resort area just south of Playa Del Carmen. It was about a 1 hour drive from the airport. We used private... more

We had a blast staying here. The room was AWESOME, however we had the jacuzzi suite. We had two floors/balconies...our top floor was the second jacuzzi and we could see the pool and ocean from it. The room was always cleaned early. The food is okay...we had to eat at the buffet a lot (don mon.) because we were usually... more

My wife and I visited the property for an extended weekend (3 nights). The facility and grounds are beautiful. We paid an additional fee for a full suite. Per the hotel's website, the room was to have a courtyard or ocean view. That which we received was a beautiful view of the buffet restaurant's (Chili's) roof (see photo). A bit... more

My husband and I stayed at Riu Palace Riviera Maya for my 30th birthday. we got a 4 night 5 day package from cleveland for 1227 through orbitz from june 18-22, but keep in mind the price was low mostly because of the whole swine-flu thing, which was totally not present to our knowledge anywhere we went in Riviera Maya! This... more

My husband and I stayed at Riu Palace Riveria Maya in July 2008 for our anniversary. What a beautiful resort! This was both my husband and I's first time to Mexico and also our first time to visit an all inclusive resort. My in-laws had rented a Villa a few blocks so we really didn't stay at the resort during... more

June 3-10 Let me start by saying I never thought this vacation would happen, thanks mainly to the swine flu scare. United canceled our flights 2 weeks after we booked. Then when Sam's Travel re-booked us with Frontier (thanks Frontier) they accidentally canceled our hotel reservation. We finally got our hotel back....but, we were originally supposed to stay at the... more
