It is not easy to give a new life to a place and much less make it attractive to people, that is why we decided to create a B&B in Mexican style!! The house is full of bright colours that gives a warm environment ... The common area is well maintained and we have wanted to enrich it with typical talavera and Mexican masks. The B&B has 3 bedrooms, each one features private bath, pool and a privat

As first step in Yucatàn, mexico y Nubes is a very good solution. You can sleep in a charming and comfy mexican house. Monica and Fabio can give you all tips you need (best playa, best tour, mobile phone, ecc..), but also they give you all the privacy you need! A perfect balance! We spent 4 nights in. It has been a very good welcome in mexico !!!!

Quite hard to find, specially if you don't have a GPS (inside a residential area without numbers on houses) We arrived late so door was closed and host hard to reach Overall stay was OK, we didn't have the chance to try the breakfast because we left early

Based on all the shining reviews, I think my expectations were perhaps different than what we actually received for this hotel/B&B/hostel. I will start this off by saying that Monica and Fabio were very nice, it was very helpful that Fabio spoke English. He even helped us order food one night! My friend and I specifically chose this hotel due to the fact it had a pool. Even though we knew it was a little further from the beach, we planned on laying out by the pool on non beach days..... The pool(s) have NO ROOM around them at all. It is enclosed between a fence and building on each side with barely any access to sunshine. We found our stay here a bit challenging all in all. There really was no check in process. Monica does not speak a lick of English (which is fine) but she continued to speak to us in Italian at every encounter, knowing we didn't speak it. Confusing! It would be VERY appreciated and helpful if a 'welcome' package (maybe even just a piece of paper) was put together in various languages, explaining things. This could include: •How to get to the beach. •How to utilize the 'free beach access at the Reef' (side note- the day we wanted to use it, Monica and Fabio left the house and no one watches or works at the place while they are gone.... It also should be stated that it is based on availability of the card as it is Monica's personal playacar community card and it seems if someone was using it, no one else at the house could. It was nice to be able to use it, but the process was VERY confusing.) •How much bike rentals are (the bikes were broken when we were there..... We had to go into town to find a place to rent bikes) -Our room was off the main area/kitchen/living and eating area. Mornings were LOUD. -Bathroom was not located INSIDE the room. (Would be easy to change too...) -Rooms were cleaned, but we spilled water on one of the beds and when we got back that night there were NO sheets on the bed. Had to wait for Monica to get back to put new sheets on.. I don't understand why they don't have extras. We were excited for the breakfast, only to find that our room did not include breakfast.. No clue why as all the reviews raved about it! -hand towels in bathroom were not changed once in 5 days, and there was no additional toilet paper in the bathroom. I had to run out and wave the empty roll at Monica for her to understand. People were smoking INSIDE (I think it was Monica and Fabio but not sure) it was absolutely awful to smell sole wafting in under our door of our room!! The outline of the facilities is very misleading...

Response from mexicoynubes, Manager at Mexico y Nubes
Responded Jan 28, 2016
Recommended to write things when you are the first to not read. It says that that room in particular not iclude meals for its very low price. You were 4 nights and write that after 5 have not been changed towels. You poured a whole bottle of water on the mattress and pretend that I put sheets in the wet? I had to wait for it to dry. You should apologize for that and pay extra. Breakfast was not included but there are seats and have eaten ..... I asked for money? NO! Come to Mexico, you want to pay little and then do the queens, and expect 5 stars. Why did not you take the suit that the towels daily, mini bar, breakfast, etc. etc. Maybe because your finances you will not permit it? The price difference, in all the structures you know from what date? He did not have money even to buy water and approfittavate than my fill your bottles make me smile ........ come to Mexico and try Hoxford ......... that disappointment.

We had a great experience at Mexico y Nubes. Monica And her staff are very friendly and great hosts. We could park our car in front of the villa free of charge. The breakfast was good and plentiful. We were able to walk to downtown and the best is that after all the noise and big crowds on 5th avenida , we were able to relax in this quiet place.

To put things into context, I am currently travelling with my travelling buddy from the UK around Central America with little knowledge of the rich history and culture of Central America. We are both in our 20s with professional jobs but thanks to the sensitive topic of teachers holidays, that many of my friends do not appreciate or understand ;), I am able to make my 6 weeks exciting and life changing. Our first stop was Mexico, a country that appears to be full of culture and excitement. Prior to my travels I was informed of the trademark, westernised tourist hotspots of Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. As we arrived at Cancun airport it was instantly easy to feel slightly concerned with the quantity of young adults and retired adults stepping into the gush of humid head outside the airport relishing in the either party or luxury westernisation they were about to endure. After 2 long flights, I was tired and concerned that I wouldn't start this adventure of with the current accommodation in such a commercialised area that I dreaded. However, Mexico Y Numes residence gave me everything I wanted to begin my journey and more. The rooms although not luxury were loaded with rustic character with self catered kitchens and communal areas. 2 small yet charming swimming pools surrounded the accommodation with classic and engaging music playing at a sufficient level during he day to remind you that you are in a country full of culture. It's location is within walking distance of the main part of Playa Del Carmen yet far enough to escape after too many tequilas. The owners, Fabio and Monica were simply delightful and made you feel like you were staying with long distance relatives. Breakfast was served whenever you wanted it and guests, clearly feeling the same as myself and my traveling buddy, were sociable and friendly. I do not often feel obliged to write about places I stay unless they offered me something unique and outstanding. This accommodation may not have the glamorous and westernised utilities that some of the local resorts offer but instead makes up for that in both charm and relaxation. For any couple, friends or travellers who are looking for peace and fun-loving atmosphere this is definitely the place to come!

What a treasure! Located in the lush, quiet and upscale gated community of Playacar, this house and its hosts make you feel like you are at home in paradise! The building is bright and clean; the hosts are warm and will do whatever they can to make you feel comfortable. I'm a solo, female traveler, and I was welcomed here like family. I felt safe and cared for, without being fussed over. I had as much privacy or companionship as I wanted. All the rooms are large, each with its own bathroom and lots of closet space. A small pool surrounded by lush trees is perfect for a cooling dip (and meticulously cleaned and topped up every morning!) The walk into Centro is about 20 minutes, where you can enter the hub of Playa with restaurants, nightlife, and every convenience you can really need... then return to the peace and quiet of the B&B when you like. The owner can arrange for tours, airport pickup/drop off, bicycle rental, and more! Be prepared for the typical hard bed that you will find anywhere in Mexico! I will surely stay here again next year with my new friends Monica, Fabio and Sabrina!

We were looking for a non-expensive accommodation without staying in one of those 24/7-party hostels and luckily found this lovely place. In Playa del Carmen it is hard to find a money-worth accommodations with personal atmosphere without staying in one of those 24/7-party Hostels. The rooms a very clean and nicely done up. The business is run by a very friendly italian couple. Monica and Fabio will make you wishless during your stay. Despite to those big, touristy and more expensive hotels in Playa del Carmen you will find a friendly and very personal atmosphere. We also liked the location because it is in not in the busy and loud center around Ave.5, but within 15-20min you can walk into the city center if you want. Furthermore you will have access to TheReef-Beach Club to find your place at the very busy beach of Playa del Carmen. Thanks to Monica and Fabio for all their efforts. We will certainly stay there again!

The B&B is very comfortable. You get the key of the house and your room, so you can walk in and out whenever you like. Very nice mexican decor. Delicious breakfast, including toast, banana bread (or similar), yogurt, italian coffee, juice. The location is excellent, nice neighborhood with a golf course in the middle. Walk to the main street (5th av.) and beach is 20 mins away, or you can take a cab for 5 bucks. Nearby there are some restaurants and a convenience store. Free access to the Reef beach club was a major plus for us! The hosts were so nice and accomodating. A very pleasant stay, will return no doubt!

Nice bed & breakfast pension! We loved the private non-commercial atmosphere in the house as well as the Italian hosts (very friendly and helpful). Thank you again for the very good snorkeling tip! The pension is located in a nice and safe area and we could easily walk into the centre (approximately 15 to 20 minutes). Our room and bathroom has been tidy and clean. We enjoyed the good (sweet) breakfast, especially the Italian coffee! Next time we will stay longer.
