The hotel it's totally amazing, it's really pretty, clean, cozy and nice, if you visit Playa del Carmen, it's the best option to stay, it's totally near of everything, at just 10 seconds walking of 5th avenue and 2 minutes away or the beach. Also, the staff it's very kind, nice and helpfull, really you're going to enjoy your visit... More

I got food poisoning during my trip to Playa del Carmen because I ate a bad dish at a nearby restaurant and the staff was quick to find me a doctor. They were worried about me and kept on asking me about my condition. I was impressed by how willing they were to help especially since I was travelling by... More

Location, price and staff were great!! We enjoyed our time at Acanto - Joel and his staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is the beat. My friend and I stayed at the Acanto Boutique and it was excellent. It was very clean, had great air conditioning, and great staff. They printed out our boarding passes for us. There is a nice pool. The rooms are safe, and private. You cannot hear your neighbors. There is breakfast in the morning. You can park you car below... More

We do anything we can for our guests convenience. Printing boarding passes, making reservations for dinner, or excursions is only part of our services. The staff adheres to strict privacy policies, and being in our property is a great experience More

I have visited Acanto twice now, and will certainly be back again and again. Acanto has been a beautiful, serene setting for my visits to Playa. Spacious and well furnished rooms, a very appealing courtyard and top-notch service(any request is greeted with a smile) set this place apart from the last three hotels I've tried there. The location is perfect... More

We stayed at the Acanto hotel for 7 nights and just returned to the US. The hotel is just amazing. The staff goes always the extra mile to please you. Even the maids make the rooms with attention to all details. And we had two kids who were quite messy... The apartment where we stayed was much bigger than expected.... More

I highly recommend the Acanto. I stayed there with my family of 5 in a two bedroom suite. The room is spacious and has nice and modern amenities. I think the biggest plus of the hotel is its location, its so close to everything in town: shopping, restaurants, bars and the beach. Its in the middle of the 5th avenue... More

For quiet and privacy it is better to be off the beach in Playa del Carmen. Acanto just being 1 block off the beach and on a quiet side street makes for a great stay and steps to the beach and shopping More

We had a really nice time at this hotel. The hacienda feel and quaintness of a smaller hotel was really great! Our room was right in front of the pool as was our table on the terrace so it was pleasant to have breakfast or dinner outside. And swimming was just a few steps away. This was especially nice as... We had a wonderful experience at ACANTO. The feeling is of a beautiful hacienda with a very pretty courtyard with a small pool. The customer service is excellent with the most cordial staff one can encounter. The accommodations were very nice with spacious suite accommodations. The location is ideal just a block from the beach and from calle 5 ,... More

Recently stayed there and loved it as soon as we checked in, staff is super friendly and accommodating. They assisted in coordinating cabs and even set up the BBQ and hot tub for us. Everything is very new and clean .Walking distance to the beach and shops/clubs/restaurants.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Acanto Hotel is part of the Boutique Hotels of Mexico Brand and is Praised by the Media in Travel + Leisure Magazine says "Mexico's Riviera Maya is known for its sprawling resorts, but the new, 27-room Acanto Boutique Hotel proves that low-key simplicity also has a place on the Yucatan peninsula. This hacienda-style property, one block from both the beach and the area's pedestrian-filled Quinta Avenida, is set around a courtyard that's home to a swimming pool lined by chaise lounges and lanterns. Spanish accents influence the interiors, where curved hardwood windows frame views of the Caribbean Sea. A bonus for value seekers: lobby-side Wi-Fi is complimentary, as is access to the hotel's beach club, stocked with chilled towels and fruit for sun-seekers. And be sure to check in with the hotel concierge, who has close connections with nearby tour operators and language-immersion experts.Room to Book:The Penthouse units have sweeping views of the Caribbean from the private rooftop whirlpool.Insider Tip: Sign up for the hotel's cooking course or the mixology lesson, which focuses on Mezcal, the distilled liquor from Mexico's native agave.Frommer's Travel Guide says"In my view, this property is (dare I say it) the most romantic in Playa. There is intimacy and flair and even a sense of isolation. Seven stylish suites endowed with color and texture encircle a pool and softly lit courtyard. Figures of Buddha and Asian decoration add an exotic feel and draw a division between this small enclave and the world outside the hotel's door. The suites come with kitchens so you can, should you choose, limit your comings and goings. The rooms are large and comfortable and come with a queen or king bed. The location is great, just around the corner from Quinta Avenida, on a secluded street"About UsThe hotel is located on a pedestrian only street surrounded by beautiful restaurants offering live music and great food and drinks.Hidden behind Hacienda style gates and built around a lush tropical courtyard with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sun decks and chaise lounges for sunbathing, we offer a Romantic yet family friendly atmosphere where our experienced staff will cater to your every need. All guests will enjoy our swimming pool and rooftop Jacuzzi & BBQ with the most amazing ocean views in Playa del Carmen. We offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom condominiums all including fully equipped kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, Marble floors and bathrooms, Granite counter tops, air conditioning, ceiling fans, flat screen TVs and telephones, balconies or terraces. Our penthouse units all offer a private roof top with Soaking tub with jets, BBQ and table and chairs. All of our units are energy efficient and ecologically friendly. We provide organic natural soaps and shampoo for all of our guests and we are a smoke free facility. We look forward to your stay with us in Paradise ... more   less
