The Hotel resort was spotless & very comfortable with everything we needed. Stunning views and leafy. Very accommodating. Great customer services. Friendly staffs and polite. The rooms are ridiculously clean and spacious. It gives you the feeling of being in a luxury!. The pool area was open and spacious with a large free-form pool and a fabulous ocean. Definitely will... A leisurely breakfast is the ultimate luxury and we have made quite an art of the breakfast ritual, wherever in the world we are. While on the Mayan Riviera we frequent a few places that add an element of luxury or authenticity (sometimes both) to our Mexican experience. I thought I'd share some of them with you without (hopefully) writing... More

We booked our stay as a 5 day getaway from stressful jobs and long overdue time for ourselves. We were not disappointed. From the unmarked entrance at the busy roadway corridor to the golf cart drive to the main house and our room we knew we had picked the right escape for us: quiet, tranquil and romantic. Our Pariiso mini-suite... More

We have stayed at all the best places in the area including Mandarin Oriental, Rosewood, Maroma (our favorite), Paradisio, so we were intrigued to try Esencia. We love small resorts that we don't have to leave and offer personalized service. Upon arrival, there are no flaming arches announcing the resort, instead you pull into a private road where you are... More

We spent three nights at Esencia in January '12 and had the perfect time. I would recommend this property to any couples looking to literally remove themselves from the world for however long they wish. Personally, three days/nights feels like the perfect amount of time here - you have the ability to leave the property, but you won't want to.... More

We could not decide whether to stay esencia or tides (now called viceroy) so stayed at both.  The rooms at tides are much nicer because you have a whole villa and plunge pool. The ocean view suite at esencia does have a view of the ocean but you can't see the ocean as trees are in the way. There is... More

We stayed at Esencia for 5 days over X-Mas. It was our second stay. The first time we stayed there on our honey moon. Now we "had" to go back. It is one of our favourite hotels ... if you ignore how expensive it is. We love it because of its wonderful staff, the great location next to a very... More

A really beautiful spot on a coast that has sadly been spoilt in many places and which is just far enough away from Cancun. This is not a place for the hyperactive but you will be extremely well looked after by the charming staff. Great service as you lounge on the beach which is all of 5 metres from the... More
