A great small hotel in an ideal location just 5 min walk from main 5th Avenue. Rooms were kept exceptionally clean and the staff at reception were friendly and very helpful. Air conditioning was efficient, Tv with 100 plus channels. Continental breakfast was more than adequate. The real plus point for me was the peace and quite throughout the day... more

The hotel is good looking on the outside and the garden around the pool is great too...but it attract bugs. I went with a group of 7 ppl, two rooms. The people in room 101 had to switch two times because of an infestation of roaches in the room. They finally were clear of dead roaches when they got moved... more

We booked las Golondrinas via a boutique hotels website for our last night in Yucatan. Locationwise, is pretty good, a short walk from the beach and 5 avenida. We paid over $85 without breakfast. When we arrived, we were given room 101, as a 'standard plus'. Avoid this room at all cost! First, it's located right behind the reception so... more

Returned today from this hotel and I would recommend it as a good value and well placed hotel. Yes it is several blocks from the beach and at the edge of the tourist belt - in a straight walk to nearest beach it's about a 10 minute flat stroll. To Mamita's the beach club where Las Golondrinas has discounted rates... more

Las Golondrinas is a good option if your budget is limited. The rooms have been remodeled and are very comfortable. This hotel is typical of most hotels oriented toward Mexican family accomodations. There is a breakfast buffet that is complimentary and it is quite good. The only drawback that we have had in our 3 visits to Las Golondrinas is... more

Stayed at Las Golondrinas for 3 nights, March 9-12. We had requested a room with two beds in it as it was a friend of mine and myself. We were quoted $85 US per night. Went to check-in they told us the room was not quite ready but were happy to hold our bags for us. After returning, we checked... more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on New Year's Eve 2008. We'd been staying at another place near Cancun and decided to come to Playa for New Year's Eve. We were worried about finding a place because of the holiday so we booked online and really got ripped off on the price. We paid $186 for a suite... more

Staying at Hotel Las Golondrinas made my vacation the best experience possible. All of the staff were extremely helpful in whatever I needed. The hotel was kept spotless, the continental breakfast was very appealing, and all of the people there treated me as a special guest. I was able to ask questions about the local area and get the best... more

Managed to get amazingly cheap last min deal on 'allocated on arrival' accomodation in Playa Del Carmen We were a bit worried at first when the bus stopped off at all the swish resorts on the coast but were miles away from any other civilization and were very pleasently surprised when we got to Las Golondrinas as the hotel is... more
