A great little find. Loved the courtyard. The hammocks are a great bonus. We stayed in room #25. Nice little twin beds, A/C, fridge, and an exquisite lil bathroom. They had a free continental breakfast that was basic but good. The rooms were clean and quiet. Would definitley stay again. One block from 5th and very close to the ADO... More

Really enjoyed our time at Barrio Latino. The staff are very friendly and helpful; the rooms have everything you need (air con, good shower and comfortable beds) and the hotel has a lovely patio/garden area. The breakfast that was included was a bit basic but did the job. It is in a great location and I would happily stay here... More

After spending first night in a fancy and expensive hotel on 5th and 12th street, it was horrible. So much noise and no shade anywhere outside of the room!! Coming to half the price Barrio Latino and so happily surprised, it is amazing! 'authentic looking' nice rooms and shower, little balcony to internal green garden and very good location! Really... Great place to stay. The owner was really nice. He would tell us what to do and even helped us get on a couple of tours. The rooms were nice, and the price even better. They are not far from the beach.

I have been staying at Barrio Latino for the past 10 years. It is my home in Playa. As every year, the hotel keeps on top of every important issues. Always super-clean, great peacfull environment and friendly and helpfull staff who seem to know just the attention one wants according to the visitors needs, so its a very comfortable amiable... This hotel was highly reviewed and thought this might have been perfect for us because we were traveling slightly more budget. I want to preface this review by saying that I am a very easy going traveler. A few minor issues don't bother me. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME TRIPADVISOR LET ME DOWN. It made me really hesitant to trust... More

Well this is really a bad, bad review. We will have to sit all together and understand why we gave you such a bad experience, while I write I apologize for that. As I often say to my colleagues, when a client isn't happy every thing turns bad : I am really sure more than 400 hundred reviews in this... More

Well from all the previous reviews I read about Barrio Latino on TA, in addition to its high score rating, I must say that I was rather disappointed in our stay and definitely expected a lot more from this hotel! I will start with a positive comment about the hotel staff...Marco and Andreas (I think) were absolutely pleasant, friendly, and... More

Barrio Latino opened his door in 1997. It is a well known spot. Pictures you can find in our web page and in this page, posted by other travelers, are original because we don't need to photoshop them. We don't even serve that coffee and we also serve yoghurt, or chocolate, and fruit juice. When you let me in your... More

My wife and I stayed here for a couple days in Feb 2015. Main takeaway - be prepared to not get much sleep at night. There is a bar right next store that blasts music very loud until ~1am, every night! I'm very surprised no other reviewers have mentioned this? So loud it comes thru the walls. And do not... More

Hi, The bar next door is named El Balkanero. They close at 11pm because we are in a calm block and when they started playing loud music, all the people of the area complained and now they are forced to close not later than 11pm as a decision of the local government. They are working at a very low volume... More

I have posted reviews of Barrio latino for many years. I stayed here annually as I travel to my home in Mahahual, Mexico. The staff is consistently fantastic. the breakfast minimal but adequate. the rooms clean and beds comfortable. there is a safe in the room. Fans and A/C always work. As time goes on, I feel that Barrio has... More
