Sunset Fishermen Review My husband and I are owners, and always stay All Inclusive. This was our first time at The Fisherman. I was looking forward to the resort and Playa del Carmen. Upon arrival, at 6:00 pm June 20, we had to wait 2 hours, and call the front desk about our mini frig being empty and luggage. (It... More

Our trip was filled with drinks and sun (when tropical storm bill wasn't making us stay cooped up in our wonderful condo). The beach was very nice but unfortunately it was covered in sea weed. Locals and people who have been before said it wasn't normal at all. The facilities were nice and when we got full body massages at... More

We just got back from a week here and had a great time. The service was terrific at the restaurant - Alejandro was a great waiter and provided terrific service. The food was good but not many choices. You don't have to take the all inclusive and Fifth Ave is a short walk away.

Just returned from a week at Sunset Fisherman's as a part of an RCI exchange with friends. The location of this hotel can not be beat. It is right on the beach approximately 1 mile outside of downtown Playa del Carmen. The resort feels secluded and yet, you can take a cab or walk-downtown, if you so desire! Although there... More

VERY unfriendly place and bad food! Went to local Walmart and cooked in our room . Good thing was a short walk to outside mall with many wonderful restaurants to choose from with local vendors selling souveneirs. Drinks were watered down so back to Walmart for a bottle of tequila to bring down by pool. We never complained until we... More

The Sunset Fisherman Spa and Resort is just a wonderful experience. We have visited many times before and it always seems like our home away from home. From the moment we arrive, Marcial, Gamaliel and/or Anselmo are there to greet us with a handshake and an "abrazo" or hug. Their welcoming attitude and the fact that they remember you from... More

Was there 3 weeks ago with friends who are time share owners. Nice resort. Staff very friendly. Meals were adequate but not spectacular. We were not on the full inclusive plan as we also ate off-site. After initial mixup on rooms, everything went smoothly. Even got a comp. 2 day auto rental. Although info said WIFI in lobby, we were... More

Was staying at Hacienda Tres Rios and after a day at fifth ave, we decide to stop at Fishermen to visit and have dinner, but we did not had a very good welcome from the receptionist named Ivan Valdez, this person needs some training on how to treat people, was so unfriendly.
