I want to commend the staff at Sunset Fishermen. When I discovered one of our luggage pieces was missing they went to work quickly and phoned the transportation company (Premier) and the driver returned. They phoned the Cancun airport then arranged for me to return the next day. It was not easy dealing with the Mexican airport authorities but eventually... More

We rented a condo on VRBO for this facility. We had confusion checking in, but learned later from the owners that there are so many different type of units here that reception gets mixed up, it's also a time share property. We lived our unit, it was perfect space for us. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. It was... More

This is a simple, quiet resort. There is no dance music, no partying, and no activities. There are a lot of time share holders here and most of the guests are over 45. Many are over 60 as well. They play classic rock and 50s pop on fairly quiet speakers. We didn't expect this atmosphere, but we were okay with... More

We stayed at Sunset Fishermen's Resort in late Oct. 2014, with another Owner/couple in a 2BR, 3BA "apartment". We enjoyed the rather 'quiet' location (although hard to find), the smallness of the resort and the friendly staff and guests. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. This is NOT a 4-5-Star resort, but the beach-front location and pools are... More

Just completed a 10 day stay here. Very disappointed with the stay overall. The staff were very good, courteous and helpful especially Guillermo, Alejhandra, Robert (cook), Diana & Marcial. The food was excellent (menu driven), not buffet) Location is great, right on the beach. Now, the bad, We had booked through an agent to be provided all-inclusive one bedroom suites only... More

The resort is low key, quiet, the staff are helpful and friendly. I have seen them over 10 or 12 years now and really appreciate them: Marcial, the greeter, is a sweet and helpful person. Anselmo who gives out towels is outstanding. Adam, Jesus, and Lady, who are servers and bartender, are helpful. Miguel, at customer service, is helpful. Maria the... More

I have vacationed at the Sunset Fisherman multiple times and I love the location, the smallness of the resort and the people who regularly stay there from year to year. The transportation service to and from Cancun airport is exceptional. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly but this year there was a Wedding at the resort while we... More

Fishermens Village is great for the access to the beach. The Life Guard, Absalon, did a good job helping people use the boats and kayaks, and the beach clean up crew worked furiously against an unusual seaweed attack to keep the beach nice. The staff is helpful and friendly. If you want an all-inclusive experience, or need to be on... More

We stayed at Sunset Fishermen Spa & Resort over the Christmas week. The pros of this resort is the beach and the smallness of the resort, it has a boutique hotel/resort feel. I like the architecture and decoration as well. They were redoing the tiling in the spot where the mermaid and dolphin sculptures reside. Hopefully it will be done... More

We have been visiting Playa del Carmen for ten years and have always stayed in or near town. Sunset Fisherman's offers the benefits of a hotel/all inclusive without requiring the meal plan. This is perfect with its location so close to town - we can go out for dinner every night. The staff is great with some we have seen... More
