I bought my membership last year, so this was the first time I got to stay in my studio. The first impression was breathtaking! It is a small resort compared to many and given the circumstances during the time we travelled (tail end of Swine flu scare) we had the luxury of some solitude. I believe we were the only... more

We just returned from Fishermen with our friends who have a week timeshare there. The place is badly in need of repairs, upgrades, maintenance, and furnishings. The kitchen supplies were dismal. The furniture falling apart literally. Some of the staff were very nice however Lenny who seems to run the place is quite the hard nosed, don't give an inch type... more

We stayed at this condo resort (alternatively called Sunset Fisherman and Fisherman's Village) during our kids spring break. We rented the only 4 bedroom unit in the resort from a rental company called Ocean Summit Travel. We were two families; my family of 2 adults and 3 kids (9, 13, 15) and my in-law's family of 2 adults and 2... more

My name is Jean. I am from upstate NY. I stayed at Fishermen's in March. The weather was perfect-85 degrees with a breeze. I have been an owner for 5 years. I absolutely love going there. The rooms I have stayed in all have had a spectacular view of the western Caribbean. The bed was changed daily and was very... more

DO NOT GET FOOLED ! We listened to biggest line of bull by the craftiest, most sincere sounding sales people to get us to purchase. Oh what a fool I feel like now. We were on our honeymoon in Playa and went to the resort and believed the line of crap that was told to us. Yes you can have... more

I need to respond to the negative reviews about Sunset Fishermen Spa and Resort by some of the new and old owners that have recently been posted. Most of the negative reviews are about the salesmen not about the resort itself or they have been written by people who do not understand the timeshare industry. We enjoyed our stay at... more

If its any consolation we were duped as well. I consider this my "dirty little secret" since I am so embarrassed to have been so stupid. Having said that we love the resort, and have stayed there many times. Love the location and the size and we are treated well there. Am wondering if that will change now that we... more

Time Share Lies, Fraud and Deception: Since our story is similar to hundreds of others that can be found on the internet, I will try to be brief. While on vacation celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary with our 2 young children; we were approached upon our arrival at the airport in Cancun and offered free attraction tickets in return for... more

We own 3 Platinum, 2 BR weeks. We traded in a 4th week in a deal to buy into the new Trés Rios resort. We love watching the progress of the construction at Trés Rios (opening scheduled for Nov. or Dec. I believe). We bought in because of the GREAT accommodations, treatment, staff, cleanliness, beach.and overall ambiance. As with any... more
