The hotel is very nice, but it is located inside a condo which adds security but puts it far from everything. It's true there is a shuttle bus passing every 20 mins but it's an inconvenience to have to take it if you want to go to the beach or to the city center. The rooms are clean and well maintained,... Riu Lupita is not a 5 star hotel but a good 3 star one. We had a lovely vacation in Mexico although the hotel was a bit disappointing. The location is ok but the surrounding forest is full of those cute and fluffy coatís which wander around the hotel area in search of food. They are lovely when you watch... More

Disappointing and poorly managed hotel. Please pay a little bit extra and choose another hotel as this 5 star ( Ha Ha Ha ) establishment fails on so many levels. I don't know of any hotel that requires you to pay for wifi - but be warned that you will have to pay ( oh sorry you get 90 mins... More

I loved riu lupita. The staff is amazing, they help you with everything, they chit-chat. When we arrived the manager greeted us, we told her it was our friend her birthday and she provided us with champagne and a cake on the house! The room was normal and clean. you have strong alcohol for free in your room. The buffet... More

We booked this hotel including flight and transfers via a very attractive (cheap) deal in the Netherlands. Our expectations where pretty low, as we red the reviews before we booked. The RIU Lupita is a nice complex with low buildings in the middle of a golf course, which is a very nice location. The two swimming pools never feel really... More

The resort is great. It feels small, no big buildings, everything is outside. Food is good. diverse, warm and plenty. It's 15 minutes by bus to the beach, that's ok. People are friendly, not too many children, nice evening programm and so much to do and see in Yucatan.... This was a great holiday!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

I stayed at Riu Lupita for three weeks in April and I definitely enjoyed my experience. I was actually doing an internship at another hotel so I was working during the most part of the day. Therefore I didn't get to experience the hotel during the day, only afternoons and nights. The hotel was super clean and the rooms as... More

I stayed there a few years ago. The staff were very friendly and welcoming however the resort is quite dated dated and the amenities are lacking perhaps a 3 star. Its about a 30 minute walk to the nearest beach spend the few extra dollars and stay at one of the other RIU's which are on the beach and more... More

Having visited Mexico previously and loved it I have to say if this was my first visit I would never have gone back. This hotel is badly dated and needs a total redecoration. The rooms are 'cleaned' daily ... They make your bed that's about it. Our room was infested with ants so the hotel gassed the room which smelt... More

We stayed at the Riu Lupita from 21st April for 2 weeks. We were allocated a room on the ground floor and having read the reviews asked for one on the first or second floor. We were allocated a 2nd floor room backing onto the ‘jungle’, which gave us lots of entertainment watching the birds and animals. The room had... More
