What a sweet place. It is charming, has a lot of character, friendly service, and was very intimate. We stayed at the very top room of the hotel so we could see the ocean. There are only a few rooms in this place but it's located down where all the action is in Playa. They offer a complimentary breakfast and... more

Lunata doesn't need another great review, but we had such a great week there that I feel moved to add my praise. We had a room at the back looking onto the green and calming gardens. We had no problem at all with noise back there apart from the distant hum of the town. It was simply and stylishly decorated... more

I just took my daughter and a friend to Playa del Carmen and we stayed at the Hotel Lunata. It was well-run, beautiful, very clean, and very hospitable. Upon our arrival they upgraded my daughter and her friend to a larger room (which was wonderful, as two teenagers really spread out). Both rooms faced Avenida Quinta, the busy shopping street,... more

This hotel of only 10 rooms is a diamond in the ruff. First and foremost the three girls that run reception are 2nd to NONE. Hi Amira, Karina and Fabiola if you're reading this. We truely miss you allot. We stayed at Lunata for two awesome weeks in the 5th ave rooms and the garden facing rooms. We liked the... more

We just came back from Playa Del Carmen on Monday. We stayed at the Hotel Lunata for 1 week. This is our 5th time staying at this hotel. He love the location and especially love our friends who work there - Corrina and Amyra. These two are gems. Both are very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful if you... more

We stayed at Hotel Lunata last week for Carnivale. The hotel is lovely with beautiful decorations, a pretty garden, nice architecture and colors throughout. The location is excellent for strolling down 5th Avenue with all the shops, restaurants, etc. a few steps away. The beach is only a short walk, plenty of places to change currency, an internet cafe just... more

The hotel staff just took first place away from the doorman at the Ruben in London. Very pleased with the assistance with a variety of requests. Enjoyed a 5th Avenue room for people watching, but it is really loud. If you are not a sound sleeper consider one of the garden facing rooms. $179 per night is a bit high,... more

Hotel Lunata is a very nice clean and well run place. We wanted a pretty little hotel in Playa and were not disappointed. It is a bit noisy at night but you are right in the middle of Playa so it is a good place to be. The building is a real treat and looks stunning, alot of thought went... more

The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is very beautiful (if you like the Mexican hacienda look) and very clean. Beds were stiff- the norm in Playa. You are blocks away from everything. My friend and I were very pleased with our experience. more
