This was a group dive trip. I have never been on 1 of these before., but I had an exceptional time staying here. The hotel is tucked in off the street, so you don't hear the traffic or the festivities going on close by. The rooms were large and well lit, with plenty of hot water for showers. The AC... More

The hotel could not be at a better location. Close to the beach and Quinta Avenida but, because of the beautiful foliage that surrounds it, it is shady and cool, giving us a brake from the blazing sun and heat all around. The rooms look more like 5 star hotel rooms: large, excellent hacienda style decoration, high ceilings, impeccably clean... More

We had a very warm welcome. The establishment is tucked away just far enough from the beach to avoid the noise, but close enough for access. Very reasonable pricing, comfortable arrangements, hot water, and clean rooms. The establishment came highly recommended to us and we will come here again.

Clean, tidy, close to everything including a club tucked away behind the scenes. We didn't notice it until the music started thumping growing increasingly louder as the hours ticked toward dawn. No amount of ear plugs or noise canceling headphones could soften the techno music. Poor internet reception in the room and you couldn't really watch tv due to the... More

This place was so great! I love the old spanish stucco and tile style, surrounded by lush greenery. The gardening is amazing, it's a full 10 degrees cooler in mid day here due to all the plant life and trees living in the hotel. The rooms were super clean and spacious. Lots of scuba divers stay here and the showers... More

We stumbled upon Paraiso Azul at the busiest time of year but it was a serendipitous stumbling. The location is fantastic - on 2nd & between calle 10/15, mostly away from the noise of 5th Avenue and the chaos up around 10th/12th but close to lots of authentic Mexican restaurants & shops. The beds are comfortable, the rooms spacious, the... More

I stayed there in July 2013 and you only get one tiny bar of soap and two towels. There is no washcloth nor hand towel. You pay an extra $10 if you want an AC unit. The TV is tiny and attached way up high on the wall. You have to pay a deposit for the room key. You also... More

I have stayed at Casa de Gopala no less than eight (8) times in the last three years. I travel to the Yucatan regularly for the cave diving and would not think of staying anywhere else. The staff is incredible, the location very centrally located so as to allow walking to all the attractions in Playa Del Carmen and the... More
