Was booked to go to playa in may but rescheduled due to the swine flu. was a little nervous about going in june but went anyways. had no problems. the resort was quieter than it would normally be when I arrived but by the time we were leaving, things had picked up a lot. From the moment we arrived we were in awe, the check in was smooth, the bellman was courtious and helpful, Our first view from our room wa unbelievable. Absolute paradise The service was spectacular. the food is above five star. I may never be hungery again. All our needs were met above and beyond our expectations. more

We recently went to Playa del Carmen, despite the flu scare. We had an absolutely wonderful time, however, we were to stay at the Playacar but it was closed due to the flu scare. We stayed at the Yucatan. There were only 2 RIU hotels open, the Yucatan and the Palace. They had to consolidate because of such few tourists.... more

This was our first stay at Riu Palace Mexico and the facilities and staff exceeded our expectations. We got back from an 8 day stay at the Rui Palace Mexico on 4/23/09 and all I can say is it was one of the best vacations we've had.
