Currently in resort, just visited the hospital for fluids because of Gastroentinitus, I don't know which hurts the most, the stomach pain or the $600 I had to pay at the hospital, Ill save money though, because I won't be going on any trips! Visitors should be made to use the sterile stations. Hotel smells musty but so did the... More

Hotel and staff are wonderful. Yes, the musty damp smell in our rooms is noticeable, not sure if that is universal, but traveled home with us, washed clothes upon return with no issue. The evening dinners were OK, would say the dinner at Krystal was !! a dinner to remember, food was fabulous and the staff as well. Entertainment in... More

I just returned from a week long stay at the Riu Palace Mexico. This hotel delivered in all form and fashion. I had an incredible stay at this property two years ago prior to the renovation. I really liked the prior decor, dark mahogany wood just felt Caribbean. I was a bit concerned with the new modern decor. However, the... More

My wife and I travel a lot and have been to Mexico quite a few times and always enjoyed the weather and hotels. I must say that this was the best experience that I have ever had, after arriving to the hotel at 11:00am we saw a sign that read check in time is 3:00 o'clock, I always tip the... More

If it was an option, I'd rate this resort 4.5 stars. It was great in so many many ways. I think where it falls short is the value it delivers compared to the other neighbouring Riu hotels, being the most pricey, but overall a great vacation! I did end up getting sick the day I returned home but it's difficult... More

Ok, so we booked the Riu Playacar. Got moved to the Riu Palace Mexico due to overbooking. Disappointed because we were looking forward to a more jungley authentic setting. Our last trip we stayed at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and Loved it! Palace Mexico-room smelled disgusting, poor maid service plus rude pool bartenders. Little bugs on our clothes in... More

This was our 2nd time in 2 years to stay at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Playa Car. We had 3 other couples with us who have not stayed at this resort in the past and al said they will go back next year. Three of us couples have stayed at other all inclusive resorts and the Riu was... More

We spent 6 days here on a quick family vacation. Everything from A to Z was efficient and available with this hotel. Arrived early and received welcome drinks and room was ready to check into. The room itself was nice - although had a terrible view from deck, but was quiet and met all of our needs. Asked for a... More

I just got home from the Riu Palace Mexico after a week of fun and sun. This place is amazing and we loved every minute of it. All of its food or staff, they are all amazing. First-the rooms are a little different, but if your traveling with a significant other they will be fine. Food-the buffet is the best... More
