Wasn't what I expected. Customer service was poor. I was switched rooms three times. The phone in our room did not work. The toilet in the restroom was over flowing. And they had horrible lighting. They're food wasn't good quality. And their drinks were watered down

I'm tired of the negative reviews. There is nothing wrong with The Reef. The food is good, the rooms are fine for the amount of time you spend in them and the beach is perfect. In general, you get what you pay for. If you want the best, go to El Dorado Casitas and pay $5000 each for a week.... More

We stayed in this hotel from 6/21-6/27. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are adequate and very clean. We stayed in a superior room which were somewhat updated. They have tiled showers rather than tubs, the furniture seems a little more modern, and they seemed to be recently renovated. Housekeeping did a great job at cleaning and keeping the fridge... More

The staff were great, however the food wasn't the best. Our WIFI that we paid for didn't work in our room for the first 3 days so they had to move our rooms. We found the resort very outdated. They were doing maintenance on the room next door from 7:30am - 3pm and did not give us any notice, it... More

For an all inclusive resort, The Reef Playacar is pretty much average... Pools are small and there is no special ones for kids - all of them in the same tiny space, playing with balls and splashing all over everybody, very close to the bar - if you think abou relaxing drinking sometinhg at the pool, forget it. Rooms need... More

We've just returned from our second trip to Reef Playacar. It's okay. We returned mainly because it is a good value and we were too lazy to plan something new. We pretty much knew what to expect. We're not foodies so that's not really an issue. We did find the buffet boring after a couple of days though. We enjoyed... More

We own a timeshare at the reef. 8 years ago when we bought it the resort was new and beautiful. now they have made no repairs and it is falling apart. leaking ceilings. breaking tiles. pool tiles all broken and fallen off. The time share people are selling a product that they don't deliver. however, the food is good and... More

My reviews are based upon my prior experiences with other all inclusive vacations. We were able to visit this club as part of our rental house. The cost is $53 per person (even for a 12 year old). The day of our trip, the Rain and Wind God visited. My husband thinks it was the tropical storm that hit Texas... More
