We stayed here from June 18-24. I loved the grounds and the beach. Mostly it was ok we enjoyed out time...we had the superior premium gold bands so we had access to all the restaurants and bars...the down fall to this place was the pool always dirty and floating with hair and other crap. And kids EVERYWERE!!! I'm sorry but... More

First I want to say we were the biggest Reef Playacar fans. This was our fifth trip. Willie was his jovial self. Senora Roxanna was delightful and Senora Victoria was very nice. Unfortunately, Daniel and Jnothan at the front desk were not very helpful. After Daniel verified it was our fifth visit (there are free upgrades at this point), we... More

This was a comfortable resort, it did not exceed expectations, but overall it covered the basics. Very nice tropical foliage/landscaping, well maintained. The check in/check out process could be a bit more streamlined, the front desk staff appeared to be bit overwhelmed if there were several guests waiting. We stayed in a standard room which was very ordinary, nothing exciting,... More

My family and I were at this hotel for 7 nights and it was the worst experience. Let me see where should I start. The room was the size of a shoe box, no sodas or beer in the fridge and was told if I wanted sodas or beer it will be extra! I have to pay for the key... More

This is a smaller hotel for the area, but it has a nice jungle feeling and a beautiful beach. The buffet had a decent selection and I was able to find plenty to eat even though I can't eat gluten. They don't filter the water, so the restaurants and bars use bottled water and you need to make sure not... More

I was slightly apprehensive since the reviews for this hotel seemed so varied, but all in all, it was a great trip. We went at the end of June for a week, a nice family holiday with my sister, me and our parents. Enough at the resort to keep us all happy and occupied. Will you find better hotels? Probably.... My girlfriend and recently stayed at the reef playacar to celebrate our three year mark. I was very impressed with the resort, the service, and the overall experience it had to offer. Food and drinks were very good! Good selection at the buffet and the Mexican and Italian are worth a try as well, just remember, casual dress code for... More

I am writing this during my 2nd day here. Very Disappointed. We upgraded to the "premium" package. That's a joke. Our room is the size of a postage stamp, has 2 queen beds, paper thin walls, no safe, a broken ceiling fan and a view of a ping pong table. They only stock rot gut liqueur and all of the... More

We are renting a home in the Playacar neighborhood which is an exclusive area in Playa del Carmen Mexico. One perk is free access to the Reef Playacar all inclusive resort (pools and chairs only - no towels). We have enjoyed the sun and pools, but the staff at the reef are rude and quick to question if we are... More
