Someone told us to come here. So we did and it wasn't the best The good - alright showers The bad - aircon didn't come on in rooms until 11.30 - we asked for a private room, we got an empty dorm with a curtain Inbetween the other room - they advertise pool, but they have an acidic puddle -... Viva la Vida was a great place to stay in Playa! I stayed there with my 11 year old son for two weeks. Full of young people from all over the world (there were at least ten different nationalities while I was there). The staff were friendly and spoke pretty good English. If you are looking for low-budget, basic, dormitory... More

I really enjoyed the people here, great atmosphere and free VIP open bar at a fun club. I had a wonderful night here and would recommend to future travelers. Check in was easy. Bathrooms were clean and they offered me a lock to use for their lockers. Great people.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We found it by accident and could not have scored better accommodation. Vive la Vida is perfectly located on Calle 2 right by all the collectivos, perfect if you want a day trip to Xpu-ha or Tulum. They have a great mix of nationalities staying and it is a very social... The hostel has a great website and there's no difference from the site and the hostel itself. The kitchen is very well equipped and has a lot of free supplies, as well as free coffee in the morning. The main courtyard is a very nice place to hang out with people and use wifi. Rooms are clean and comfortable but... More

This hostel is great! The staff and owner are very, very friendly and usually hang out with the guests and the people living here make the difference. I had booked 2 nights and ended up staying a complete week. The hostel is clean with a big, full of utensils kitchen, a small swimming pool and a nice spare area to... More

Inexpensive hostel with everything you need. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. The hostel has a bar, kitchen and pool which were all useable and clean. It is in a good location not too far from the beach.

It's a very okay hostel with nice location. but the beds are in horrible conditions, they all have a hole in the middle, making it impossible or even painful to sleep in. Other than that cleaness and the rest was ok.

When we arrived here we screwed up our booking accidentally booked in for the wrong month. The guy at the front desk was really helpful, phoned some other places for us to see for a private room but we couldn't find one. we ended up spending a night in the dorm and then they arranged a private room for us... It's good value for money, the place has a great atmosphere and a nice socialising area. The staff are very hospitable and friendly. We enjoyed the location, a few blocks back from the beach, but still close walking distance and far enough away to have some quiet. The collections stop right out front which is convenient and they rent snorkels... More
