Stayed one night in June, 2009, with a college buddy. We were down in Mexico just relaxing for a weekend and the Mosquito Blue was perfect for our needs. The hotel is ideally located at the corner of 5th Ave (the main pedestrian street in Playa) and 12th Street North (has the highest concentration of nightlife in the city). Obviously... more

We just stayed in a deluxe room, great spot, excellent location, pool area very nice although we never used it. Only 2 really really minor things. You do hear the noise from the nightclub right next door as it goes till 6AM but it never really disturbed our sleep. The 2nd would be the beds, I like a firm matress... more

My girlfriend & I just returned from a week at Mosquito Blue & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is situated right in the middle of Quinta Avenida & in my opinion perfectly located. We booked a suite which was nice, simple, & what I consider a pretty amazing value for $155 a night. The grounds of the hotel... more

The place looks good- that's about it. A construction site across the street continued working until 11pm. Then, both nights, guests were partying outside and the noise bounces all over the hotel. I tried to leave and get my money back, but the management would not let me. I would never stay there again. more

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a small boutique hotel in town and right off of 5th, so it is close to everything. You get full access to the beach club just a few blocks away at the Mosquito Beach hotel. The beach had nice sunning beds, and we did not have a problem getting one every... more

We changed 3 times before the get a acceptable room but noisy on the 5th street. ( the noisiest strret of playa del carmen ) Really bad and very noisy airconditionning on the room on 212. Don't forget to take your ear plugs because you will not sleep. The airconditionning is like a helicopter. If you turn it off ;... more

We enjoy boutique hotels and were very disappointed with our 5 days at MB Hotel. The black garbed male front desk staff were surly, disinterested and not at all helpful with any playa information. I suggested one staffer look online for an address we inquired about- and he ignored me and walked away. The rooms are too sparse for long... more

Further to our saty at the Mosquito Beach, we also spent 5 days at Mosquito Blue. The hotel's location is great but close to a large club which creats a flow of noise on weekends. The junior suite we got was mediocre at best (!!!) , run down and not worth its cost (US$300+) - small TV, A/C did not... more

first, i will say that the grounds of the hotel and pool are nice and it's a good location. the rooms weren't my taste (a bit colonially decorated) and there was no storage space, but the real problem was being treated like 5 year olds by management. we had to wear a plastic bracelet like at an all inclusive and... more
