My girlfriend and I stayed here for 6 days. We decided to make our trip adventurous by not booking a hotel prior to our trip. On our bus ride from Cancun airport to Playa we talked to an American who owns a condo there and she told us about Maya Bric--right on 5th Ave., cheap, and quiet. We walked about... more

I recently stayed here so I could dive with the Tank Ha group. My diving experiences were excellent : very professional, thorough and pleasant. Thanks to : Roman for my first cavern dive experience ; Ivan for the night dive (and otherdives).. Martin for the 'micro' diving experience! ; Barbara for the easy afternoon dive, and the books, and finally... more

Read about this place on trip advisor, took a chance and were thrilled with the result. At $60 a night in high season it was a steel. Small, clean, friendly, a great little pool and lush garden. Heck the hostel was $50 a night for 2 and for an extra $10 a night this place was well worth it. No,... more

We stayed here for 2 weeks and had a great time. The hotel is located right in the centre of Playa del Carmen, but is a little oasis as it is set back from 5th Avenue. The pool is lovely and there are loungers and chairs. The room is certainly adequate for a holiday in the sun, although the bathroom... more

The Mayan Bric, despite being located right off of Fifth Avenue, is very quiet and relaxing inside it's lovely confines. The interior landscape is very nice, the pool has sea turtles and the owner and staff were very friendly and most accommodating. The room was cozily utilitarian. For the economical price, one could certainly expect far, far less. We'd happily... more

The reason this hotel did get one star is due to it's location (right on 5th Avenue), the fact that despite its location it is very quiet, the working air conditioners, the pretty interior gardens, and the pleasant staff. Unfortunately, these do not outweigh the negatives of an unpleasant one-night stay at the Maya-Bric. I should say that given the... more

Stayed at the Maya Bric for 3 nights (November 2005), and completed my open water dive certification through the Tank Ha Dive Center. I really enjoyed the hotel. It is very simple, and clean. No tv, radio, or phone so I read a lot. They do have one computer that guests can use for email, internet, etc. Vivian (the owner)... more

The maya Bric, also known as the Hotel Tank Ha due to the top notch dive shop at the hotel, is like a second home to us. We just came back from three weeks at this hotel with our two small kids. We had room #8 which is right in front of the pool and we left our door open... more

We stayed at the Maya-Bric (now Tank-Ha Hotel) for one night on Feb 19 in an AC room. The room was clean and simple. The AC worked well. At night, it was not noisy at all when the AC was on (ours was on low most of the night). There is a safe in the room, a nice feature. The... more
