The staff was rude and you do not feel safe at all. Room 202 was loud and no lock on door. Terrible shower and te beds were like sleeping on the floor. I would never recommend this to anyone. It's was a horrible experience. March 2014

I just returned from Playa and 9 nights at The Molcas. This is my second stay there in 2 years. I requested a different room due to some short term construction and it was handled immediately with a different room. The manager and the staff are the best and I look forward to staying there again on my next trip.It... More

My husband and I love this hotel. Overlooks the water and across from the ferry. Breaksfast is included and WONDERFUL. Staff was very helpful and spoke fair english. WE are going back in September this year. Catch the bus from the airport and walk across the street to the hotel.

Location, price, (basic) amenities, this is the place. Not a resort hotel! Yes, you only get 2 towels. Enough for us. Plus good a/c, balcony overlooking the water, steps from the town square, ferry, and 5th Ave, refrig., and the front desk guys DO speak English. We paid $50/night for this! We absolutely LOVE Playa Del Carmen, will be staying... More

I stayed here 2 years ago, right after the hurricanes (Rita, Wilma). Not much has changed. The place is still old and a bit worn, but worth the $60/night for a room. It's clean, somewhat comfortable, and aside from the lack of towels and water pressure, everything you need in a room is there. The hotel staff is among the... More

Do not stay here!!! We were told by the Molcas that the hotel was repaired after the hurricane and was fully operational except for the restaurant. The hotel is not habitable and we had to move to another hotel. The balconies are blown off and, if you can get your sliding glass door open, you step off into thin air... More

We needed a hotel for one night only. Central location was important. The pluses: air conditioning worked well, they had a small refrigerator, the bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was fine. The minuses: poorly maintained, stained tiles, cracked sliding glass door, the door in the room could not be locked, the door leading to the... More

My friend and I wanted a budget friendly vacation. Hotel Molcas was perfect. The price was great, staff was friendly and it was right next to the beach, main strip and ferry dock! I loved it and would definitely stay there again!

We've stayed at the Molcas on many occasions with groups we bring to the area. It used to be a great place, but is apparently under new management. Last time we stayed they shorted us a room. No help from bellboys, nobody speaks English. Rooms aren't as clean as they used to be. Noisy club near hotel. We've found a... More
