Had a very nice and relaxing stay at the Riviera Caribe Maya....Nothing fancy, but the room and bathroom were very clean and the small garden pool was enough to cool off on hot days...Allan the Desk Clerk, has spent many years in Illinois so no language barrier of any kind while at the hotel. Located just one block west on... More

The rooms are large and clean. The room floors are well swept, but could benefit from mopping. Our daughters are 14 and 11. We appreciated the ability to book a space with 2 bedrooms. Both bedrooms were spacious with plenty of storage. The bathroom was large and had a huge jetted tub. The bath towels were large and good quality.... More

Booked here for 8 nights in March of 2014 and definitely would use this hotel again. Front Desk -Always friendly and helpful. Zero complaints! Room All rooms overlook the pool. We had room 101 so closest to the lobby and ground level at the pool. I was concerned about noise but we heard nothing the entire time. It was even... More

This is a good hotel. When I read about its award as a boutique hotel (etc, etc) I was expecting something that would wow me, but this place was still pretty good. The common areas are very pretty and there is a shady pool if you have crisped yourself and can no longer swim in the sun. The room was... More

We were in Playa del Carmen over New Year's Eve 2013. We had visited this area in April of 2013 and looked at a few places we thought we would like to stay, however they were all booked by the time we got around to making plans. I reserved this hotel through Hotels.com and was extremely nervous about it being... More

We had a change of plans and decided to stay in Playa Del Carmen. Went on line and found this gem. The hotel was well located, clean, comfortable, and priced right. The only negative is that the pool never gets sun. But they are a short walk to the beach. Tip of the day. Walk to the beach. When you... More

Nice room with balcony overlooking the pool/garden.. very nice. They really mean check in at 3 so don't come early. Also get your beach towels early in the day, they didn't have any at 11am.. all gone apprently? Nice friendly staff, good housekeeping and prices were reasonable. Only a five minute walk to the action and the beach.. so great... More

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for our first three nights in Mexico. The staff were friendly, the rooms were very clean and it was a very quite hotel. The location was what made it perfect. There is a pool there, which no one really uses, probably because it is very cold, but that didn't bother me one... More

The pros: Cost Location--a block from 5th Avenue, which I really appreciated, because it was convenient to stores and restaurants, but away from the noise. Had friends staying at a different hotel, who barely got any sleep. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hot water and pressure were consistent (at least until the last night I was there) Big,... We enjoyed our stay. Was close to everything. I agree with others regarding the noise level but it's pretty conveniently located beach is a few blocks away there's a cafe around corner. mini mart around another corner, and around the corner from 5th Avenu. The only problem I would say is that there's no continental breakfast as other places in... More
