We stayed at Hotel Las Palapas in March 2015, and it was the most amazing hotel I´ve stay at ever. From the staff at the front desk to the staff doing the maintenance work around the hotel, you were always getting a "Hola" and a smile. The hotel itself was amazing with the small bungalows, really good standard in the... More

The hotel was totally great! We got upgraded to a deluxe room in a more quiet corner of the complex (not beach side or beach front) and is totally secluded. We stayed there for 4 nights starting on Sunday night in early March. That night was horrible!! The loud techno music from afar (1 mile away) was blasting all night... More

Dear Martin F. Thank you for the comprehensive review of our beloved Las Palapas Hotel. We appreciate the warm, positive remarks and feedback about our intimate palapas style rooms, direct beach front location and the great food. I hope you heard that this week the hotel will be closing for a remodeling and will become part of the neighboring sister... More

Nice, pleasant well-located small local hotel a far cry from the mega resorts. I had a pleasant stay. However, I booked a more expensive "Ocean View" room. Don't bother. There is absolutely no view of the ocean and beach whatsoever. For the record they have two "Ocean Front" rooms at the highest price, then a dozen or so "Ocean View"... More

Hello On the 08/03/2015 my boyfriend and I went to Las papalas Hotel for a day pass and unfortunately the service and the way that Manuel from the reception treated us, is the worst way that someone could have ever treat a human being. He was the rudest person that I've ever met and I would really appreciate if I... More

We chose Las Palapas as opposed to all the 5* all-inclusive offers available because of the proximity to the center of Playa del Carmen and because the hotel was NOT all-inclusive. And we were not disappointed: The grounds are beautiful, the "cabins" are charming and comfortable, the food and the service is very satisfactory indeed. When we arrived (two couples)... More

I've hesitated to even write this review but, something has to be done about the beach clubs in Playa. I've been coming to the area for over 2 decades and have stayed next door at the Shangri La (Now Mahekal) many times. I recall an era where we would rent a cabana on the beach and hear nothing but the... More

Dear PShankel- Your review of Playa del Carmen is very much appreciated by the staff of Las Palapas. We understand and share your frustration with the noise impact from the clubs. We do wish there was a solution on how to co-exist with the clubs in the area but we haven't discovered this yet. Perhaps as more upscale hotels open... More

All you need to know about this place is that Mamita's Beach, playing some of the loudest, most bass-heavy music in Playa del Carmen, is right next door. The music starts late morning or early afternoon and continues until sunset-- it's so loud and offensive that you won't be able to nap or relax at all during the day. Best... More

I was staying at a nearby boutique hotel Aconto, that was gorgeous! A couple blocks from the beach we asked where a good place to go was. True, for what is in Playa, this is probably the best place to hang at the beach. We went through the lobby and because we were at Aconto we were charged a fee... More

I have just returned from my 4th yearly vacation at Hotel Las Palapas. Everything was wonderful . The service from the desk concierge staff, wait staff, housekeeping and maintenance was impeccable. In fact everyone you passed greeted you with a smile and a Hola or Buenas Dias. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was also wonderful. Willy and his staff... More

I have just returned from Mexico after nine days at Las Palapas, Playa del Carmen, Mx. Our palapas was wonderful. We stayed in #4. It was very clean and just a few feet from the beach. Our favorite times were with the staff and their friendliness to both my sister and myself. My sister has been going to Las Palapas... More
