Stayed here with my sister for BPM festival. Staff were very helpful and could not do enough. Location was perfect even though you do hear loud music from mamitas (which we didn't mind at all). Stayed in playa del Carmel many times and this was my favourite accommodation thus far! You are able to swap your meal plan, lunch for... More

Dear Meechjam- Thank you for the wonderful review of our Las Palapas hotel. We are pleased you enjoyed the location central to all Playa del Carmen has to offer. It is a nice feature the hotel offers it's guests; the option of swapping either lunch or dinner on a daily basis. This way our guests can experience local cuisine if... More

If you are looking for something different, this is the place. Gorgeous setting in mangrove, yet steps to the beach. The renovated rooms are high end design meets rustic minimalist. Beds are super comfy. The landscape is just so peaceful. Stress melted the minute I got there. The beach is perfectly situated, with lots of chairs, tables, palapas umbrellas, great... More

My Wife and I like to get away. We want a quiet relaxing resort. We don't like mega resorts. The place has 1 and 2 story Cabana's, great food, very well presented. We started going to this area 20 years ago, The place has exploded with giant resorts. We are so happy a place like this still exists. We loved... More

We had a jungle suite that was awesome! The rooms are decorated tastefully and the whole hotel area is very well maintained and cleaned. Also breakfast buffet, food at the beach etc. was very nice. In particular we like to mention the friendly and very helpful staff at the hotel. So: go there, it is very nice!

This is the worst hotel I have ever went to! Please do yourself a favor and find another hotel to stay at. I was up till 6am becuase it's sandwitched between two outdoor night clubs. My entire room was vibrating and my wife never was able to sleep. Management could careless and I had to fight with them to be... More

We traveled with our two children, ages 8 and 6 and stayed 6 days at Las Palapas in a garden section palapa. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing beach vacation with our family, and that's exactly what we got. We were aware of the BPM techno music festival was going on and were a bit worried, but even with... More

Dear MNFin- We are so happy to learn you had a wonderful family vacation at the Las Palapas! What an amazing place for children to visit. It's nice to relax on the beach under the swaying palm trees without a care in the world isn't it? We are pleased that our staff took exceptionally good care of you. They are... More

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, from the front desk to the concierge to the wait staff. The rooms were fairly basic, maybe a little dumpy, but it was clean, bright, and comfortable. I loved the option of a private outdoor shower. The grounds were very pretty--I loved waking up to bird songs, and the evening lighting (soft lights... More

My family and I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks, including Christmas and New Year. My kids are 4 and 7 and they did not want to leave the place! The rooms are tired and we got caught in some DJ music nights but the staff, the perfect location and the quality of the food and music entertainment made... More

Booked through American Express.Noone told me of the deafening music literally, from next door.Had to sacrifice 3 nights prepaid ..no refund. They should have advised of the noise problem. I overheard the front desk telling walk in prospective guests that the noise would not be a problem. Fraudulant! Do not stay here. Robin Milward

Dear R Milward~ Thank you for taking the time to review the Las Palapas Hotel. It is unfortunate you were not able to enjoy the tropical pool, amazing food and beautiful beach. I have stayed at Las Palapas many times, and it remains one of my favorite beach destinations. The hotel is set on one of the best beaches in the area amid beautiful tropical gardens.
