We visited with our 3 teenage boys in August 2014. This is a really lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds- so different than some of the more flashy hotels in Playa. The staff cannot do enough for you and go to great lengths to make sure you have a fantastic time. We can highly recommend the private snorkelling/boat trip arranged... More

Our family of 4 (2 girls 10 & 12) spent our first 3 nights here. We stayed in three unique places during our time in the area and loved them all for different reasons. Beautifully kept grounds, lovely lighting at night. Tropical bungalow w/palapa roof, hammocks on the porch, steps to the beach, pool, & restaurant. Big bathroom & shower.... More

We spent 6 days with a large party of 33 and the hotel catered for our every needs. We (our family of 3) personally appreciated the beautiful landscaped garden and the high level of care offered by the friendly staff. The breakfast and a la carte lunch were good, but dinner could be more interesting (with the exception of the... More

My friend and I stayed at Las palapas for 4 nights and absolutely loved everything about it! The service was super, the groups are beautiful and well maintained, the location is within 2-5 minutes of the main agenda. Breakfast and another meal is included in the daily reasonable rate. We ended up eating breakfast and supper each night. The food... More

Don't stay here this summer before the work is finished to the complex next door! We were woken at 7am each morning by the noise from the building works next door. Everybody is complaining but the staff do nothing! Their standard answer is "we're sorry, the work is supposed to start at 10am"!!! It totally ruined our holiday! Also, we... More

best trip to Mexico ever! the staff is fantastic and the cabanas are very comfortable. The size of the property is not too large, so you really feel like you are at a boutique hotel and you get to know all of the staff. Look for Boli at the front desk...he is an excellent concierge and can get you hooked... More

This hotel is definitely on the nicest beach in Playa, while still being a very short walk to 5th Avenue. The hotel itself is very charming, with each room being an individual 'palapa' or cabana. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked, and we had hot water. Service here is excellent, and the beach, pools, and public areas are... More

Just returned home from Las Palapas today. We spent 3 nights as part of a large wedding party, and loved it. The rooms are a little dated, but they were clean and everything worked fine - hot water, cold AC, plenty of towels, etc. We loved the small size and how the hotel is tucked away, but we could walk... This was my first trip to Playa del Carmen. I must admit that I didn't do my homework as well as I normally do when planning a trip but this was my honeymoon and thorough vacation planning took a backseat to wedding planning. My husband and I were shocked at just how touristy the city, particularly Calle 5, is. We... More
