Still here. Room 105. Shady, but perfect amount if sun. Close to lobby and no noise. Staff is as courteous as you will find. Food so far is average but seems fresh and prepared on site. Beach is narrow and quiet. Still lots more to explore. But after 1 full day, it's great!

Hotel is located on huge amazing grounds. So one would never find themselveds bored and with nothing to do. Villars are very good sizes, most of them have swimming pools and great sunbathing areas. Nagative points: Bicycles need to be rented - even though its peanuts, but in resort where the beach is good 10 minutes ride in golf cart... More

I have just reviewed the Banyan Tree Mayakoba but Joan Harris had been staying at my house whilst I was there and used my computer. Unfortunately, I didn't notice she was still logged in and my review has gone under her name.

From the minute you walk in, the service, the surroundings, even the smells are heavenly. We stayed in a spa pool villa (highly recommend for couples without children), rented bikes to get ourselves around, and enjoyed absolutely every minute of every day. This hotel is amazing. Everything about it. Highly recommended. Clean and very luxurious rooms. Loved biking around the hotel. Great food and drinks. Very easy to get to from NYC. Definitely stay here.

Just home from one glorious week at Banyan Tree Mayakoba. Our villa was impeccable in every way, spacious and clean and well appointed. Having our own substantial pool and hot tub in our courtyard was terrific. Some days we hardly felt we had to leave the villa. Stayed here 1 week with our 3 teenage children. I thought the setting was heavenly and the food was fresh, plentiful and delicious. (We tried each restaurant at least once and loved them all). Amazing hotel, we had a room with private pool and it was just like in the pictures. Very expensive but great service. Be careful with tips, they will charge you 10% in tips at the end of your stay! The only bad thing was the food.
