My wife and I were in Merida for my 40th birthday, and we stayed at the Hacienda Merida. We were given a great warm welcome by Albert and Efrain. They really made us feel at home for the three nights we were there. Our room was on the ground floor just at the end of the pool. It was nice... More

What a blissful place to arrive at after the long dusty drive across Yucatan. Merida is a bustling city, hot and congested with traffic, its architectural beauties mainly marred by neglect, muddle and overhead cabling. A few blocks from the centre you pull up in front of an old low-rise town house with heavily iron-barred windows. Nothing prepares you for... More

Merida is an unrelenting grid of one way streets near the historic core and so this place, hard on the pavement, opens out Tardis-like into a lovely calm space. There are only 8 guest rooms, so the service is very personal. Breakfast is good, particularly the desayuno Mexicano version with hot chillis in the scrambled eggs. We were there during... More

Merida is an exciting, bustling, rushing, noisy, hot, bothered city with terrifying buses (so pretty Mexican really). But go through the doors of this hotel and a blanket of calm drapes itself over you and you sigh and feel content. You walk through the small lobby (I'm not a particular expert in Lobbies so I have no idea whether it... More

This is a charming little hotel. only 8 rooms in a nice former mansion. The car park is free and 1 block away. the lobby isn't interesting, but the bar is very nice. So is the pool. one can walk to the city centre (20min) and to Paseo Montejo (15min). But the room was a let down! Small, very very... More

from Albert's welcome to the clean comfortable room to breakfast by the lovely pool courtyard to the friendliness of Carlos the waiter and really everyone, this was such a pleasant boutique hotel. Ten minutes max to the Gran Plaza, and the same to several good restaurants the hotel is well located. The building is interesting and spotless. Lots of character.... More

This was our favourite hotel we stayed in during our trip. The hotel only has 8 rooms and as such offers a really personal experience. All the staff and very friendly and helpful in whatever you need and can also recommend local events and sites to visit. The location is great, right next to Calle 60 which is the main... More

This is a lovely old building tastefully restored in the public areas with a super looking swimming pool. The standard room we had at the back was a disgrace. Small, noisy ac and fan, poorly lit, and power points hanging off the wall and frankly unsafe. Repeated attempts to have at least the most important power point fixed resulted in... More
