Upon arrival, we went from the busy streets of Merida into an atmosphere of absolute tranquility--all within five steps. For no particular reason explained to us, we were "upgraded" to a VIP room which was on the second floor and overlooked the pool and courtyard. Our room was absolute heaven with a large king-size comfortable bed, lovely terrace for sitting... More

We've stayed here end of April. Instead of staying in one of the big Hotels our decision was to try a Hacienda. This Hacienda is in the middle of the city 1.5km walk away from the main plaza. Clean, quite and unique. Service was excellent. Rooms are big enough, colonial style of decoration. All what you can expect from a... More

We stayed at Hacienda VIP. This place cannot be faulted. The staff super friendly, the room beautiful and a lovely swimming pool. We enjoyed the bar next door and met more friendly staff and guests. There was a free car park down the road as well and many good restaurants.

We stayed here in April while visiting Merida. Getting into the hotel was the biggest challenge. Many streets in Merida are one way. But we found ourselves driving in circles for about an hour as road construction and roadblocks set up for the weekend made zeroing in on this hotel a real challenge. Upon arrival, the staff did take our... More

We stayed at Hacienda Merida for just one night. The location is superbe, just a few blocks away from all major sites and in the heart of the historic center. Rooms are quite spacious, classically decorated. In the common area there is a small pool and a few tables and chaises longue creating a very aesthetic feel. The staff was... More

We stayed in Hacienda Merida with 2 young children ( ages 7 and 5 at the time) in april 2010, while travelling through the area. Merida is a beautifull city especially in the weekends when local people dance in the streets. The hotel is beautifull , friendly people, excellent facilities and quiet surroundings. We were the only guests so our children... More

The first shock upon arriving at the Hotel Hacienda Merida is just how plain and bland the front of the hotel is. Your heart sinks as you prepare for similar inside and you tell yourself “it’s only for a few nights”. Step through the front door and you receive the second shock. It’s gorgeous. A blend of French and Moroccan... More

First off, the owner, who was French Moroccan, I believe, was very friendly and gave us lots of advice on where to go, eat, and shop. He imbued his hacienda with a European flair, and somewhat humorously decorated with his own father's paintings (he's not a professional artist!). This personal touch, along with the gracious pool, made the hotel quite... More

Hacienda Merida's bit is, at core, very straightforward: a tasteful makeover of an old central Merida home; extremely pleasant and eager-to-help staff; six comfortable rooms; a quiet and, during our March stay, nicely breezy courtyard/pool area with both shade and sun; breakfast and good coffee to start the day and a well-stocked bar for cocktail hour. The action -- ruins... More

I stayed in a standard room for 4 nights and loved my stay. The space feels very private as if you're a guest in a luxury home and not a hotel. The space is beautiful, quiet and relaxing, just what you need after pounding the pavement all day. The staff was friendly and helpful and they serve the best coffee... More
