We just returned from our 3rd stay at Piedra de Agua and can only confirm our previous reviews. Its a lovely converted mansion with a quiet pool area. The service is friendly and thoughtful and everyone works hard to accommodate you. Location can't be beat and it's a convenient base of operation to see the sights. They are currently hosting... Wow--you can't get a much better location in Merida than this hotel...it is just about a block away from the main park and cathedral. Although the rooms (especially the bathrooms) are small, they make up for the size with so much charm. We had a second-floor room the first night and it got pretty noisy...this is a much busier part... More

Dear guest: Thank you very much for your nice review on Trip Advisor's webpage. We have already taken note of your impressions about your stay. We are starting a new project to put double noise-proof glass doors in all our second floor rooms to solve the problem with the noise that we still have in 2 rooms. We hope you’re... More

Location, location, location! Although I am more into modern decor and furnishings, my husband convinced me to stay here and it was well worth it: the hotel is cozy and we instantly felt welcome. The service was nice, people were kind and attentive. I can't really say regarding the noise given that I am a deep sleeper but my husband... More

I'm from Toronto, Canada and this was my first to Mexico. Beach resorts aren't really my cup of tea, but I found the Piedra de Agua Hotel to be exactly what I was looking for. The hotel is an old colonial building that has been nicely renovated for comfort without compromising its historical significance. The building is located in the... More

Dear guest: Thank you very much for your nice review on Trip Advisor's webpage. We did the best we could to restore and give a good use to the old and abandoned property where the hotel is today, always respecting the original dimensions and pieces, so it is very rewarding to read reviews like yours. We hope you give us... More

We just returned from our trip to Mexico and we stayed in Merida from Oct 1 - Oct 4 in the Hotel Piedra de Agua and I must say that this was a great experience. The hotel had all the charm and atmosphere of an old building but with the luxury of a 5-star hotel. Although we stayed there during... More

We returned to the Yucatan this August, repeating a family trip we made in 1994: Chichen Itza, the Puuc Route, Uxmal, Merida and then over to the beach. We picked Piedra de Agua in Merida based on it's location, and the unique nature of the place. It was a short overnight stay, so we didn't use the restaurant or the... More

This hotel is simply amazing!!! It is less than a block from the main square and is constantly well lit. There are several terrific restaurants in walking distance and even at night it is not sketchy. In other reviews people complained of the noise, but we were on the second floor and had 2 balconies, and noise was never a... More

This hotel advertises suites instead of rooms which gives the customer a false impression of the hotel. Instead of that, most of the rooms are small with very small bathrooms. Staff is very helpful and corteous which makes the stay pleasant. More

Dear guest: We thank you very much for your honest comments on the Trip Advisor webpage. We are aware about the size limitations that 2 of our rooms have.
