After staying at B&B's around the world, we rate Los Arcos and David Reed as the best. Our room with two queen beds was larger than most, with very high ceilings that gave a sense of space and comfort. Walk into a gorgeous courtyard with pool and pretty plants. It is a wonderful place to just sit and talk or... More

My first time in Merida! Came down looking at realestate for my partner and I (because of House Hunters Internationals ) Dave was amazing, his place tranquil and inviting. The breakfasts was absolutely delicious. Recommend this place to anyone who likes a relaxing experience.... Ended up buying a house here.

We don't usually stay in BnBs, but after reading the glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to give it a try. And are we glad we did! The rooms are very comfortably furnished, and include thoughtful touches, such as a light-up makeup mirror, bed pillows of varying density, and a huge stack of towels. The rooms are located at the... Los Arcos never ceases to amaze. Dave is exquisite in knowledge of the area, Consuela is an amazing cook and the rooms are always clean and beautiful. the pool was refreshing after hiking pyramids, and this is definitely a place that once it gets in your blood you will never want to leave.

It goes without saying that the end of any year, not spent in Merida, foretells of misfortune to come. And any stay in Merida, not at Los Arcos, defines a bad trip with many disappointments. As usual David, our host, was at his best. Sourcing exotic and satisfying meals from all that Merida has to offer, is his forte. The... More

Didn't even want to leave the B&B during the day, loved every minute of my stay- David is an amazing host and you will love him and his beautiful home. Also breakfast was AMAZING. I wasn't usually hungry again till dinner! Lots of fun places that are easy to get to through the city, or hanging out by the pool... More

My wife and I are fairly well traveled but we weren't prepared for the exceptional experience we recently had at Los Arcos. At the end of our 8-day visit, we sat around having our usual excellent breakfast and wondered how Los Arcos could be improved. Honestly we couldn't think of a single thing. The hospitality of David, the owner, was... More

We stayed for three nights in Los Arcos and found it the perfect base from which to explore Merida. There are two rooms in this B&B, set on a wonderful garden - you get to the rooms by going through the main house, then through the garden - so they are well set back from the main street and feel... We stayed ten nights at David Reed's Los Arcos and enjoyed every day. Walking into Los Arcos is walking into a museum, filled with art, masks, icons, etc. Besides David you're also warmly greeted by Nina, the terrier. For most of the year two rooms are available which were built at the end of the lush, pooled courtyard. Opposite one... More

My husband and I have just returned from spending several days in Merida, at Los Arcos. David is the consummate host of his B&B. He has wonderful suggestions as to activities, restaurants, as well as where to go to mail a postcard! The beautiful pool provides a tranquil respite from sightseeing activities. Spending the day sightseeing necessitates energy and the... More
