We stayed at the Santa Ana for about a month. We felt very welcome at this wonderful little piece of paradise. We just parked in the hotel parking lot and walked everywhere - close to great restaurants, Centro, art galleries, Paseo Montejo, etc. The quiet air conditioning and fan were great touches. We spent time in the artfully decorated common... More

The very reasonable price point got my attention at first, but it was the friendly staff, clean and very secure property, and the location that helped make my first visit to this very interesting city enjoyable. The morning breakfast was always fun as the two young women made sure I got what I wanted and got Spanish lessons besides. As... More

Sir, Thank you so much for your kind words. The staff truly enjoyed your stay with us as well. I was only disappointed when I returned from my trip to learn you had gone. I enjoyed our morning chats and your insight into things of interest to me. I hope your Spanish lessons went well and pray that we have... More

We really like this hotel and last time we raved about it. This time I booked four rooms because we were showing our family what a wonderful city Merida is and trusted nothing changed at the hotel. Nothing had changed at the hotel, it's the hotel neighbours, two roosters that start their daily ritual of crowing at 5:00 am in... More

I understand your concern and it is currently being addressed. We are undertaking a renovation at the rear of the hotel to shut out the noise, our fingers are crossed. This seems to be our only option having offered to buy the animals, offered to more then to the owners ranch where I am positive they would have a much... More

We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay here - we're on a budget, so have been staying in pretty basic, cheap places. But, this hotel was a really nice change of pace while still being affordable. The rooms were clean, well-decorated, cable TV, hot water showers, good internet. The little pool in the courtyard was a great spot to... More

This is a lovely budget hotel reasonably close to the heart of Mérida. (The accent tells you which syllable is accented, apparently.) It is clean and has the loveliest, most friendly and accommodating staff. Very pleasant people. The staff were happy to provide lots of information and took time to ensure we understood what they were telling us. There is... More

Thank you very much for leaving your comments and recognizing the staff. The rooster has been an ongoing issue and we are now planning and implamenting an extensive renovation to the rear area of the Hotel in the hope of addressing. We have spoke to the owner of that property several times as well as with the city but have... More

We found this to be a quiet relaxing hotel with a colonial feel situated in a great location in Merida. All the basics are well taken care of i.e. cleanliness, wi-fi, shower etc, although don't expect too many frills. For the price we paid, it was exceptional value in our view.

Merida, founded in the early 1500s, is still very much old Mexico and also a new Mexico. Despite all the franchised named businesses that have made their way to Merida, there is still a huge part of this big city that holds to tradition and simplicity. I had the pleasure of spending three weeks at the Hotel Santa Ana in... More

Hotel Santa Ana is one of those boutique hotels that you I wish you had found on your first visit to Merida.
