I stayed here for 4 days. I was in the Garden Cottage room which is detached from the main house. It's very quiet and good-sized and has an attached private bathroom. The bed is comfortable and the room is beautifully furnished. Since the weather was hot in Merida, it was great to relax in the pool at the end of... more

Claudette and Sergio are the most gracious proprietors in the Yucatan. I have stayed at their B&B for three years in a row because I know that when I arrive at their beautiful establishment I will be made to feel at home. They have accepted me and my teenage grandsons with the greatest food in the world, a smile and... more

From the moment I stepped into Casa Esperanza, I knew it was my home in Merida. From the beautifully landscaped garden and pool area to the exquisitely appointed rooms, one feels at home in the middle of Centro Merida. You are but a short walk from the zocalo and right down the street from one of Merida's best restaurants specializing... more

Casa Esperanza is located on the SE corner of Calle 54 and 55 in an almost unmarked yellow building. Find the tiny sign alongside the front door on Calle 54. Hosts Sergio and Claudette are friendly and helpful, the accomodations are clean and pleasant, the other guests friendly, unlimited bottled drinking water provided, the grounds are gorgeous, the pool is... more

We stayed at the Casa Esperanza for two nights this Christmas and the place was just great. The rooms were beautiful - clean with charming decor. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast they serve is amazing. The pictures posted here and on their website are exactly what the place looks like. It is a little secret... more

My wife and I stayed at Casa Esperanza for 3 nights in October and had a wonderful time staying there. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. It was air conditioned, which is important - even in October. The hotel, which you can tell was once a grand residence, is now a quiet oasis in the heart of Merida. There... more

While Merida itself is well worth the investment as a destination, the personal advice and care provided by the owners of the Casa Esperanza is absolutely priceless. The grounds are gorgeous, and it is an authentic stay. Tell Claudette & Sergio that Marie & Harry sent you.... we'll be returning as soon as possible. more
