We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. It is located to walking distance to downtown. Staff are very nice and willing to tell you what to do when go to a place. We wanted to go to Puerto Pregreso and they toll us to take the bus istead a taxy. We save lots of money on transportation. Continental breakfast... More

If you are considering this hotel is because you dream of waking up in an hacienda-styled colonial house surrounded by the peculiar Yucatan morning peace. Although Hotel Marionetas does resemble an old colonial house, your experience might be degraded by some other basic factors. My first and major complaint about this place was our room assignment. Rooms 7 and 8... More

Converted hacienda with classic Spanish feeling including hardwood wooden window shutters and doors but new windows on a quiet street with lots of small restaurants around, but walking distance from most of the major tourist sites and areas. Very warm welcome, good staffing and hospitality with a good breakfast available. Pool is only 12 feet long and 3 feet wide... More

Spent 4 nights here. Like many of Mérida's hotels, when you enter from the busy streets, you enter into a tranquil environment where the central courtyard is private from other buildings and protected from the noise outside ... most of the time. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The breakfast included a bowl of fresh chopped fruit,... More

What a special place. The owner and staff took care of us like we were family during our visit. The rooms have so much personality and were very comfortable. I highly recommend staying in the suite that is available there- it was definitely worth the slight up charge. Be sure to take advantage of breakfast there as well. Simple, delicious,... More

Hotel Marionetas delivers wonderful atmosphere with amazing staff. Simple breakfast available daily at 08:00 consisting of fruit, yoghurt, eggs (on request) and toast. Cooling pool in the center of the courtyard is great to combat the hot Mexican sun. Air conditioning in the rooms works fairly well, but is not necessary 24/7 due to nice breezes.

This is such a nice place to stay. It is close from the center, in a quiet street, and there is a parking. The hotel looks like an antique house, decorated in the mexican style. Lots of colours. We had a huge room, with little daylight indeed, but not a problem, because you don't spend the day in your room!... More

The second you leave Cancun and venture further into the Yucatan peninsular, what a joy it is! Merida is a thriving city, with many people, shops, churches and monuments. Hotel Marionetas was a fantastic find, priced exceptionally well and in a perfect location, only 5 minutes from the central plaza on a quiet suburban street. There is a convenience store... More

Location: It is in the historical district making it very convinient to walk and explore the historical district. Hotel: Its a cute, small budget hotel, with the feel of an old world hacienda. There are cute corners around the small hotel to sit and lounge. The WIFI was always up and working. The front desk is supportive and made calls... More

Hotel Marionetas is a very pleasant place to spend a few days in Merida within a relaxing atmosphere. I first spent 2 nights at the hotel and then returned for another one following a few days at the sea. Each time I was assigned a spacious and nicely furnished room. It's a bit of a walk to the Zocalo but... More
