Very convenient location between the Paseo Montejo and the main plaza. Tastefully decorated, clean polished floors, comfortable furnishings, a beautiful quiet pool, air conditioned rooms and 2 ice cold beers on the house in the fridge in each room - who could want more? Our rooms had 2 comfortable double beds and a hammock to string up if you want.... more

Small, intimate hotel with a lot of personal charm. Tom (one of the owners) will take care of you as soon as you walk in the door. Centrally located and the little dipping pool is great to cool off in after a hard day of walking around town. more

I have just returned from a two week 'babymoon' with my husband in Mexico. We drove into Merida absolutely boiling after a two hour car drive from Chitchen-Itza in 90 degree heat while six months pregnant and no AC. There was parking across the road, and the hotel is on a quieter street very centrally located. Had no idea what... more

This place is wonderful. The owner Tom was very helpful as well. Our room was clean and had a small sitting area overlooking the pool in a walled courtyard. The place is decorated with Mexican artwork and felt like a home away from home. There was parking for our rental car in a lot across the street. We walked everywhere... more

We planned our honeymoon months in advance and we were happy to be able to stay in this hidden gem hotel. We felt welcome and the decoration is very original and well thought. Complementary drinks is a plus as I greatly appreciated to discover the "Montejo" a delicious beer from Merida. more

This is a lovely little hotel with a homely atmosphere, very low key. Owner Tom is a most relaxed fellow, easy going. Rooms are large and clean, free drinks in the lobby. A nice, small pool out the back. This hotel looks nicer than the photos. There is a good little cafe across the street, we also went to a... more

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Luz en Yucatan. The first year the hotel was great, but Tom and Donard , ( the owners) are improving it even more. They are continually upgrading the facilities and adding such things as rooftop terraces. The hotel has cooking facilities and a pool. The hotel is... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Luz en Yucatan late April 2009 for 4 nights. Tom, Beatrice, and Augustine are down to earth, very friendly and do a great job at running this charming hotel. The hotel is simply "like home" equipped with a kitchen, sitting rooms, open areas and beautiful Mexican decor. It's conveniently located to shops, plazas... more

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Luz for five nights while attending a conference. After spending two nights in the Holiday Inn (Luz was booked) it was such a welcome relief to experience the character of this beautiful hotel. I had the great fortune of staying in the casita, which included a private terrace overlooking the pool and... more

Luz en Yucatan more than lived up to our expectations. The service is what sticks to my mind first. Second is the place--beautiful decor that is both modern yet you can feel the style of a time past with Mexican arts and crafts. You will enjoy the beautiful gardens that you’ll find on each of the floors, the wonderful painted... more
