We spent a week at Luz in late February and had a wonderful time. Tom and his staff were always ready to help. And the level of trust is unheard of. There is no advance payment required and we checked in about 8:30 p.m. The local person who was working in the evening said we could pay anytime, and he... More

What more can I say that hasn't been said? The Luz en Yucatan certainly lived up to the reviews here. The building is unique and absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in Palacio, a huge suite with a full kitchen and a terrace (and lovely hammock) overlooking the pool. It was organized with a quick email..no credit card required, no paperwork, and... This was an incredible hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tom and his staff were very open and attentive to our needs. The room was clean and it was abundantly charming. We would return and we would highly recommend this hotel. The complementary tequila was a nice touch.

Lovely accomdations for a quick few days before heading off to Campeche. My wife and I were very comfortable, and experienced a warm welcome, and every effort to make our passing through seamless. The staff made arrangements for our ADO bus tickets and had them delivered to the hotel so we could maximize some precious hours revisiting our favorite restaurants,... More

So glad we booked this hotel! We had the Palacio room, the huge room at the back overlooking the pool, with the huge terrace. Two double beds and a single. Full kitchen, including coffee, not just a coffee maker. Full height fridge, gas stove, nuker, toaster. Plenty of dishes etc. Beds were comfy. Good bathroom, decent shower, plenty of room... More

This is the top hotel in Merida, and I agree is the best. If you are looking for a different experience this is the place to stay in. Forget about complicated reservations, an email or phone call will do it, no credit card to reserve, no cancellation fees. Forget about check in desk or complicated check in process, none. Invisible... More

We have stayed at Luz en Yucatan twice now. Certainly would do it again. It is a few blocks from the central square, is close to restaurants and shops. The rooms are very pleasant and the management is very helpful. There is a kitchen if you want to do a little cooking. There is a nice little pool and patio.... More

You could easily walk past this place it's so discreet. Ideally placed in old centre of Merida, plenty to see and do nearby. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, and hammocks if you prefer. Our room opened onto courtyard and pool with a little private seating area and yes another hammock. No breakfast provided but great choices nearby. There's a well equipped... More

We stayed one week at Luz en Yucatan hotel during our first visit to Merida. The location is ideal - just a few blocks from the Grand Plaza and in the delightful Santa Lucia neighborhood with great restaurants and activities nearby. There was even a locally-crafted hammock in our room for siesta time. We took some day trips and especially... More
