We had trouble finding hotels due to a large conference in town, but ended up booking here. The hotel is very lovely, with clean rooms, well-tended grounds (including courtyards), a very nice continental breakfast with very fresh fruit and some hot selections and attentive staff. The free wi-fi worked well. There are only a few caveats: there's no elevator, and... more

I stayed at this hotel for 12 nights while leading a study abroad group from Alaska. It was recommended by my tour operator (Maya Holidays) when the hotel I had stayed in on previous vists was being renovated. The garden/courtyard area is lovely. the staff was very helpful when I needed copies and printers. The desk clerks speak English very... more

We were originally at the Luz, and planned on leaving Merida to drive to Tuluum, but the approaching hurricane didnt allow us to do that. So were stuck in Merida without a hotel. We felt lucky to have found this hotel that had some rooms available. The room (2 full beds) was VERY small - didnt look as nice as... more

Hotel Maison Lafette – Merida Avoid this hotel. The staff was friendly enough, until someone swiped all our medication. Medication with little street value – but, could easily kill someone if they have a weak heart, or a thyroid. Once I told the manager it was immediately assumed that we had misplaced the three pill bottles and that a staffer... more

It's an OK hotel in a good location. Common areas are nice. Nice pool. Ok breakfast. But rooms are rather basic. They look much better on the pictures on the hotel website than they really are. It's nice to have the free internet access. They now have 2 computers in the lobby. more

I'm a return guest at this hotel, for everything it has to offer. The staff is friendly, and accessable. It has parking, not common in downtown Merida. The included breakfast is served in beautiful surroundings, either the pleasant courtyard, or air-conditioned comfort. It was complete, from eggs cooked to order, to fresh fruits and bakery offerings. The pool was clean,... more

This is a very basic hotel, no luxuries... although the location is very very good, right in front of a small plaza, and there is music at night. Great ambiance. The hotel rooms are very very bare, you only get the essentials, but it does have air conditioning, which is essential! The breakfast is included in the fee and you... more

We have stayed at Maison Lafite twice in the past 18 months. Each time we stayed for four nights. We have found it to be a very pleasant experience. The hotel is located close to the the city center. The rooms are air conditioned and quiet. There is wide variety of guests, and it is pleasant to sit by the... more

We recently took our third trip to Merida. Our favorite place, Luz en Yucatan, was fully booked for a couple of the nights that we would be there, so we reserved a room at the nearby Maisson Lafitte. Although Luz remains our favorite, we were very satisfied with Lafitte. The price was fairly reasonable, our room was clean and attractive... more
