We are on a 40 day driving tour of Mexico in our VW Beetle. Some days are better than others but I have to say that when we drove up to Calle 61 and found La Mision de Fray Diego I was not sure if I should be happy or sad.....until I took 2 steps into the hotel and saw... More

What a beautiful hotel! The La Mision is maintained really well, with an easy to access pool and lovely gardens. The restaurant and bar is great. The wifi isn't the best, hard to access in the rooms. Great location, short walk to markets, shops and restaurants. Would recommend to those travelling to Merida!

Pretty courtyards, cool and spacious a short distance from the bustle of Merida Square. Restaurant service excellent and we were glad to eat there in the evenings away from the noise of the city. Room comfortable, if a little dated. A lick of fresh paint here and there wold improve the hotel.

The hotel photographs well, and we were drawn in by its charm. We paid a little extra on Expedia to have a special room with two double beds. When we parked we were greeted by an extremely helpful porter. However, disappointingly, we were shown to a room that did not fit the description. Moreover, it smelled like cleaning fluid. I... Thank you very much for your comment! We really sorry about noise. We are working in having anti-noise doors in that room to avoid any kind of noise. In short time we will not have that comment any more. Hope you have enjoyed anything else. Best wishes! More

Ok so if you want affluence you go further north but as a central location this was perfect being two blocks form main square. Two lovely courtyards one with a small pool, terrace for breakfast and early evening drinks. We were upgraded to Frey Diego suite - huge double room but v little furniture, feeling it needed a makeover. Noisy... More

Thank you very much for your comment! We love you enjoyed the hotel. We sorry about your perception of the suite. We try to keep it with a luxury but simple decoration and it is very spacious. About the water in bathroom we are working in getting all bathrooms better. In short time all is going to work more than... More

Great location only 5 mins walking to Cathedral Square. Step back in time as you enter the 17 Century courtyard with statues and fountains. But it stops here really, although the room was quaint the bed was soooo hard! We stayed for 3 nights and did not sleep very well at all! Did not eat in the Hotel as there... More

Many thank for your comment! We sorry you did not like our bed, and apologize. All beds are special for hotels, the standard quality to not be so soft or so hard. Actually, they are pretty new but with years, beds tend to be softer. However, we are attentive to this issue to resolve how to improve the experience. Best... More

This hotel has such an opportunity to be much much more. The cons - hard lumpy beds and old lumpy pillows, bathrooms in need of serious renovation, rooms smell musty and damp. The pros - location is very convenient to the town square, the little restaurant does a great breakfast, the rooms are clean, lovely courtyard and swimming pool, historic... More

My wife and I recently spent four nights at this hotel and enjoyed its charming colonial decor and feel of days gone by. Set in a renovated part of what used to be a religious mission, as its name suggests, and organized around two Spanish-style courtyards, one with a fountain, the other with a small swimming pool, this beautiful little... I stayed here several years ago actually, while on one of the best vacations of my life throughout the Yucatan, enjoying the pyramids, jungles and all else. This is a wonderful little hotel with lovely rooms around a beautiful courtyard and a great restaurant in front. Right near the middle of Merida where the town comes alive as soon as... More

The hotel located in what was a mission, still has the monks cloisters, located around two courtyards, one with a fountain and trees, the second a small swimming pool. The staff were excellent, always helpful and willing to make the visit a success. We stayed 3 nights, using the restaurant twice. There are many restaurants close by, but the food... More
