This is a beautifully converted convent - on a street that doesn't look much at all (close to the Zocalo) and has you wondering as you walk down it, but then you turn into a lovely courtyard and hotel. Restaurant has a nice setting within this, we only ate breakfast there but that was pretty good. Service was very good... more

On our recent first visit to Merida, we stayed at a wonderful and unusual hotel called La Mision de Fray Diego. The hotel contains one of the most beautifully designed court yards in the city, the location was perfect, the rooms were atmospheric and comfortable, and the staff are really something to rave about. On the day before we were... more

Our group of 8 had a very good experience at this hotel. We found the rooms to clean and comfortable. The small courtyard setting was very relaxing contrast to the busy streets. The restaurant was convenient and very nice, with good service and variety. The location two blocks for the central square made for easy access to many of the... more

The tour group selected this hotel and we stayed for 10 days. It is a gem. It is an old well-kept mansion with a beautiful patio and nice rooms looking at two nice courtyards. The service is excellent and the restaurant is wonderful. We were there when the weather was cool so we did not use the pool but it... more

I can only talk about the Mision De Fray Diego in superlatives. It is a true oasis in the middle of a rather noisy and hectic city. It has character to spare, yet it is comfortable as well. Location is perfect - just two blocks from the main square. Service is amazing - the "bell boys" provide examples of the... more

Stayed there for 3 nights and liked the plahce. A very friendly and efficient and clean rooms. They have a pretty decent restraunt too, though we only had breakfast there on out last morning and loved it. A really good place stay in Merida, not aluxurious 4 star but definetly a great one for the price. more

We spent two nights at this hotel in March and felt it was good value for money. The common areas of the hotel are very attractive, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The availability of valet parking for guests was very useful, since we had a rental car. Breakfasts were adequate, but we didn't have dinner there. Our room... more

This hotel is a beautiful restoration resembling an old monistary. Contrary to above comments about substandard linens, they were just fine. Food was pretty good, especially breakfast in the courtyard. Staff was excellent. Great location. more

For the amount of money you pay, this hotel is not worth it. The location is good, the building is beautiful, but it lacks the details that would make it a first class hotel. We stayed at the junior suite. The towels and linens were not only below our expectations, but the towels were old and stained and with holes... more

The layout and design were beautiful, charming, old-world, enchanting. Our kids enjoyed the pool. Staff were very courteous, especially the maitre-d/waiter in the restaurant. Food was excellent and fairly priced. Location was plenty convenient to the zocolo square. For $69 a night, it's a great deal and I highly recommend it. more
