This is probably the best hotel I've stayed. It is a renovated colonial-style building and it makes you feel extremely relaxed and welcomed. The middle part is filled with plants making it a small oasis in the heart of Merida. The whole hotel, the bedrooms, the walls, the linen, and even the sink were mexican themed (not in the cheesy... There`s so much to see in Mexico but Medio Mundo makes it impossible not to include Merida in ones travel plans, so this was my 7th visit to this colourful and amazing lttle hotel. Perfect location close to the historical city center, wonderful big rooms in different colours but what makes this place so special is the relaxing and peaceful... More

After ringing the bell for admission, you enter a lovely courtyard with a fountain, pool and flowers which seem to bring the temperature down to a pleasant temperature. The people are pleasant and helpful and the room was nicely decorated and air-conditioned, which worked even though the outside temperature was 106 degrees. The swimming pool on the terrace is kept... More

You can't tell from the outside, but once you go into Medio Mundo you will be surrounded by a garden oasis. Everything is painted in lovely shades of blue, with beautiful gardens, small fountains that block out the busy traffic noise of the outside world, and even a small pool in the back. The rooms are large, very comfortable and... More

on the ground floor, giving onto a patio and small pond, was decorated in blue and white. We had a big comfortable bed and the room was big enough as likewise the pleasantly decorated bathroom. Water wasn't very hot though. The room was quite quiet but you could definitely hear the noise from the nearby street. The Vegan restaurant was... More

The Medio Mundo is not for everyone. No television, no air conditioning in the room I had, but that is part of the charm! Quiet, safe, calm, inviting. Staff is beyond wonderful, and the grounds are perfect for relaxation, contemplation, and a respite from the hectic activity of the day. Throw in a great breakfast and the opportunity for a... More

Amazing location, beautiful hotel, enchanting room and good breakfast.... really the best quality price ratio we found throughout our all stay in yucatan! Special mention for all the cute and authentic details in the decor. After spending a few days at the beach, we really felt like we were in mexico.

Great small hotel well decorated and affordable with a fantastic breakfast. The vegan restaurant is definitely a plus.Tasty, creative dishes. Friendly and helpful staff. Do ask for an upper room in the back (less noise, although being fairly central it is hard to avoid) but the afternoon breeze is refreshing

Hotel Medio Mundo met our needs perfectly: good central location in Merida's Santa Lucia barrio and all-around helpful staff. Over four days, we relished returning to its calm vibe after exploring various parts of Merida by taxi or bike, but mostly on foot. Our second-storey room, which was comfortable and very clean, overlooked a peaceful green courtyard space. We never... More

Well ... where to start? The rooms are lovely, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel is heavenly for vegans and vegetarians. . . .. definitely gourmet-quality food, at reasonable prices. . .. lovely, peaceful outdoor seating .. .. 5-stars, all the way around. Sorry I didn't eat dinner there a second time during my stay. (Breakfasts are equally... More
