This B&B is a good deal if, like us, you plan to visit the area and spend little time in the hotel. The B&B is owned by a Mexican/Belgium couple who are very friendly and always happy to help. For instance they helped us rent a car (to go to Izamal and Dzibilchaltun, nice day!) and made a gluten-free breakfast... More

This b and b is about location. Just a couple of blocks from the ADO and sur, oriente bus stations. Other than that , The area doesn't have lot going for it. Fine for a couple but if I were a woman travelling by myself I would find somewhere else. Bed is soft though a mattress on concrete slab. Air... More

For the price, this B & B is a really good deal. The couple who run it are very friendly and helpful and speak a number of languages. We found the area OK with elderly neighbours sitting in their doorways in the evening, keeping an eye on things. There is good security on the building. It is very handy for... More

An OK place but you can do much better for your money in Merida. First, a comment on location. If you travel by bus, it is convenient to the first and class bus terminals. However, nothing else to recommend this area. An area full of poorly kept homes and dirty streets with much traffic. Also the prostitutes working from nearby... More

Casa Chalia is not too far from the bus station, which is handy if you're arriving or leaving that way. It's a bit of a walk into town, but we needed the exercise anyway. There are more central places, but here the owners really are very nice and helpful. Jan kindly lent me his computer cable when mine was broken.... More

Excellent location for the price. 5 minutes from the ADO bus station and only 15 minutes walk from Grand Plaza. Jan and Linda are very good hosts. They try and help you with anything. They alone run the place, no staff so everything is very secure. Laid back atmosphere. Very nice breakfasts which are included. Excellent value for money. Rooms... More

We found the facade unattractive but the bars across the entrance doors allow the door to be open all day whilst being safe (so first impression is deceptive, don't be put off). The owners are a Belgian and his Mexican wife who both have good English and are very welcoming, they will only recommend from first hand knowledge and put... More

Rooms aren't huge but have everything you need (clean, screens, secure, air con, fan, private bathroom). Owners are helpful, happy to accommodate early/late check-in/out, different breakfast each day & nice secluded breakfast/communal area. Good location near ADO bus station & easy walk into centre - stay here it's good value!

it reminds me of an old fashioned English boarding house, no soap, tiny butter dish at breakfast, no tv. on the positive side they are friendly. the hotel is in a red light district by the way

it is the owner couple who makes the difference. they provide fantastic service. rooms are clean and quiet located on the garden side of the building. breakfast is delicious. in the afternoon you can relax in a hammock. this bb is located in the poorer area of town, the more north it gets, the more rich. nevertheless it is very...
