It was so nice to spend 3 nights at Casa Chalia. The owners are kind couple who lived in Denemark so you can see from first moment that the standard is diferent than in houses/hotels runned by Mexicans, They have 7 day breakfast menue so you can expect delicious breakfast every morning, this was the best part :) Rooms are... This hotel has an enchanting shaded courtyard where we ate the most delicious breakfasts I've ever had while travelling. Our hosts were welcoming, friendly, funny -- and between them, they speak about 6 languages. What I really liked was that they enthusiastictly answered my many questions -- like how to find the right local "colectivo" bus to visit sites on... More

Very close to ADO bus terminal, clean room with air conditioning, very nice owners, awesome home breakfest made by owners. Room and the bathroom are small but have the minimum you need for a short stay. And incredible price. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Merida.

Rosalinda was the best cook...she made a different breakfast every day in her outdoor garden kitchen... she was warm & friendly & her husband Jan was very funny... They treated us like family... I booked this after reading the reviews on trip advisor and when I got there, I had to re-read them to check I hadn't made a mistake. I was extremely disappointed. The area didnt seem safe and was quite far from the centre. The sheets were old and stained, the towels scratchy. The room was fairly clean but there were... More

As the name implies, this is not a fancy hotel with concierge and lobby. It was originally the family home (now with additional rooms) of the lovely Rosalinda, who together with her husband Jan runs a comfortable, clean, and very secure guest house where travellers are made to feel most welcome. Although small and basic, our room was clean with... More

Spent three nights here recently and had two different rooms. The first, over the street, required earplugs but was clean and comfortable with private bath, a/c, and hot water. My second room, at the rear was quiet enough and also clean and comfy. The owners are accommodating and include a delicious breakfast prepared in the outdoor kitchen/patio area. The rooms... More

The room was small but comfortable, the wifi didn't reach our room but was available downstairs in a nice hammock area, too bad it was impossible to stay outside for too long in the May heat. We didn't find the owners so extremely friendly as some reviews here said, but they were polite enough and the breakfast was good, though... More

Jan and Rosalinda are very, very nice. They are multi-linguists, with just about every language covered. This is a very, very basic bed and breakfast. There isn't a TV, telephone or blow dryer in the rooms. The breakfast is very comprehensive and changes daily. A hearty meal that holds you for hours. They are located a little too far from... More
