We had a really nice stay at this hacienda in early June. The Swine Flu crisis seems to be keeping most everyone away. We received great attention from all the staff and our room was rustic yet luxurious. Food was good, but not great. With virtually no other guests and this being a luxury property, we expected to be greeted... more

Hacienda San Jose is a little oasis in the middle of nowhere. We didn't have the best of weather - raining or partly cloudy, but it didn't matter a bit when you were reclining in a hammock or taking a dip in your private outdoor bath while looking up at the stars. Perfect experience for our honeymoon. Food was brilliant... more

it's the second time my wife and me returned to this beautiful hacienda, this time with our two kids that also had a really great time . it's one of half a dozen haciendas we visited in yukatan. It has a special atmosphere. If you don't expect the perfect service (if you need service at the pool just use the... more

We spent our honeymoon here after getting married in Tulum. It was an ultimate 4-day experience. We were greeted warmly by Karina (front desk manager) and Jan (the residential manager) and our fantastic stay commenced. Here is a sampling of the many things we loved about Hacienda San Jose: 1) Excellent food in a beautiful surrounding. The restaurant is gorgeous... more

The Hacienda San Jose is located around 1.5 hrs away by car from Merida town. There is no access but a car. But who would ever stay this hotel apart from leisure. So it doesn't matter at all. Because this is a completely different world from outside. Then, I fully understood that this had to be away from any chaos... more

I agree with all the other wonderful reviews here. I can't say enough about how fabulous, relaxing and peaceful this place is. The one thing I would add is that I think kids would be bored out of their minds here. When my wife and I stayed here recently, we saw a coulple sets of families with younger children. Even... more

This is a glorious hotel. Calm and tranquil, and so beautiful. Staff glide around in white linen uniforms, flowers scatter pathways and hammocks are within arm's reach for every moment. Our room was gorgeous, It totally exceeded our expectations, we felt like royalty and it made our honeymoon so precious. The restaurant serves a delicious and varied menu, be sure... more

This hacienda is a gorgeous and secluded small hotel. It's perfect for staying a couple days while visiting Merida and Izamal (don't miss Izamal!!!). Rooms are perfectly comfortable. The restaurant is excellent with a very nice colonial-like ambiance in the bar. The gardens are vast and gorgeous. And calm, so calm... It's a perfect hide-away for people running away from... more

This Hacienda was very difficult to find--we arrived after driving 4 hours in the dark from Cancun and had a lot of trouble as the signs on the smaller roads are impossible to see in the dark. However, it was totally worth it. Once we got there, we never wanted to leave. We arrived at midnight and the manager and... more

Upon arrival and the wonderful greeting from Karina and Maria we knew that once again the Hacienda's of the Yucatan were going to please us. Marcelo, one of the expert wait staff, always there at the perfect moment. Do request a massage by Macaria, and you will bask in luxury. The grounds, pool and ambiance is very relaxing........go enjoy more
