Without being able to name anything that was exceptionally bad, I really can not think of a reason to stay here. The place and it's furniture are old, it lacks any kind of atmosphere and it is in desperate need of a renovation. The room we stayed at was big but not really clean and noisy. Go here if everything... More

The cheaper rooms are big, clean but noisy. Big window, but you have to close it at night because of the noise. Its not a place where you would spent your vacation, but if you look for something cheap and still clean, its very good value. The offered breakfast is nothing to talk abaout, but theres hot coffee and drinking water.... More

I stayed in this hostel in August 2013. Price was very good considering facilities and comfort provided. Hostel owner Mariana is amazing host, very helpful, she helped me a lot. Rooms are clean, hostel has swimming pool. In this hostel I met many nice people, with some of them I became good friends. I would definitely stay again in Casa... More

I found Hostal Casa Nico by accident, as the other hostels I checked in Merida had no room when I arrived at 11:30pm - I hadn't booked ahead, preferring to just show up and take my chances. Mainly I look for a place that is clean, safe, quiet, and centrally located, anything else is a bonus. All I need a... More

This hostel is really CHEAP! We paid 160 pesos for a private -big and clean- room. They have a good equiped kitchen to cook and the breakfast is okay. Its well located but in a VERY noisy street. without earplugs you wont be able to sleep anymore from 5h30 in the morning. I would recommend this hostel for peeple who... More

Although Casa Nico is far from an idyllic spot, it's more than OK for the price you pay. It's located right in between the largest bus station and the Plaza Grande. We had a big, fairly clean room with a fan, a decent bed and a lukewarm shower. I do suggest bringing earplugs, because most rooms (including the dorm) are... More

This place is good enough if you are staying in Merida for a few days. Pretty cheap and the people are very friendly. I really liked this place. You get breakfast, Internet was great, and location can't really complain. The room was ok but you can't really ask for much when you paying so little. But the friendliness of the... More

I needed a place to study my Spanish after taking private lessons with a local maestra and was referred to Hostal Casa Nico. Due to the low season, Sept-mid Nov I was given un buen precio. The entire Staff, clean "home", delicious breakfast, great kitchen, all contributed to my wonderful 2.5 months in Merida. Un dia volvere!

I spent one wonderful week in Casa Nico, a new hostel about 3 blocks from the Zocalo, or central square of Merida. I was planning on going somewhere else, but visited the hostel after learning about it at the bus station, and found it peaceful and very comfortable for a very reasonable price. The owners are delightful and extraordinarily helpful,... More
