I loved the nooks and crannies of this 18th Century Hennequn mansion. The interior garden and the winding staircases that lead to the different rooms create the feeling that you are staying in your own private place. If you want company, you can always head up to the bar on the roof before supper to meet other guests. The gourmet... More

This B&B is a hidden gem in the busy city. The decoration is spot on tasteful, respecting the original beauty of the house. It feels like you step back in time, and you almost feel like one of those Hacienda owners. I can see that some people would feel offended by the owner (as written in some reviews), he is... More

Casa Mexilio is a strange place. From the moment we arrived we felt completely unwelcome and uncomfortable. After a long day of travel we were willing to overlook the odd behavior of the owners because we wanted to have a great vacation and we were so hot and tired. We signed their form saying we understood all of their restrictions... More

Nice house, full of interesting old things graciously placed... but in need of a clean up: everything outside the room seems to be dusty. Our room was fine, quiet and cozy. It had one double and one single bed, with two very, very small bathrooms. Cozy patio with a cenote-like pool. Good and original breakfast included in the rate. Knowledgeable... More

Casa Mexilio was such a gem of a small hotel, a perfect home base for day trips in the Yucatan. The service was excellent, the place was charming and warm, and the breakfast gift such a nice treat. Hope to come back soon. More

We first visited the beautiful city of Merida and stayed at the Casa Mexilio a couple of years ago. On our latest trip we found the hotel continues to be a convenient, quiet and safe place to stay. This time we booked a room in the “new section” across the street, if you call an Art Nouveau pre-World War II... More

August, 2009 and it was one of the most unique places we have ever stayed. Located near the town center, about 4 blocks from the main square you'll find Casa Mexilio squeezed in amongst homes and businesses along one of the typically urban sections in Merida. All the buildings in this section of town have no spaces between them and... More

Casa Mexilio is exactly what we were hoping for. It is a magical place with its tile floors, ups and down, and ins and outs -- definitely not a bunch of square rooms! The breakfast room is perfect with its huge open windows and antiques. This was our favorite hotel of our 10-day trip. The location is a few blocks... More

We had reserved two rooms for five days to see the Mayan sites in and around Merida. We arrived late but were met by the staff. The two rooms allocated to us were on the bottom floor. We found the rooms to be dirty, dark even in daylight. The promised WIFI was not avialable. The next morning breakfast could not... More
