Overall we were very happy with Hotel Caribe. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and actually charming. The building of itself has a very rich history. The location is perfect, right in the back from Calle 60, in the Park Hidalgo. The little retaurant is nice and the food is wonderful. Best-Wishes, and Good Travels, Jethrot1 more

We have stayed at the Caribe Hotel every year for the past 4 years and am going there again in April. We love this hotel. The staff is very nice and speak English, its close to every thing, the restaurant is perfect for afternoon snack or breakfast or lunch. We own a home on the coast in Mexico and come... more

The Caribe is a beautiful hotel in a 17th century Monastery situated on Park Hidalgo in Merida, just one block from the central square. Our room was on the second floor, which is an open veranda overlooking a lovely courtyard. The room was small with only a double bed (and an extra twin size bed), but was comfortable and clean... more

We booked using the hotel´s own website: a superior room for two nights (68USD). Our problem was that the picture shown to illustrate superior rooms is actually of the hotel´s one and only suite, so what we actually got was the picture used to advertise the standard room. Not a great start. The room we did get was fine: air... more

booked with www.differentworld.com good central location, A little difficult to find if arriving by car ( tucked away at the back of a small square ) Average accomadation, out of date , could do with a refit, valet parking service would be helpful, a good but basic base for travellers. more

Overall: Beautiful hotel, great staff, excellent location. The hotel is designed with a garden and fountain in the middle, open to the sky, and the rooms/hallways around. Such a beautiful colonial style with archways and tiled floors. The entrance is in the corner of a beautiful park that is great for people watching. There is a great rooftop pool that... more

We had booked a room woth a queen sized bed that was supposedly a luxury accomodation. When we arrived the hotel had obviously lost our reservation and showed us a dusty, mildew-ridden room with no natural light or window to the outside, with 3 twin beds with very tired linens and hard mattresses. After refusing that room we were given... more

Great location. Couldn't be more convenient. Absolutely charming. When we walked in, a local band of musicians was sitting in the dining area, rehearsing, and this amazing voice serenaded me. Our room was on the second floor. The exterior (courtyard) is stunning - a fountain in the middle of a small park-like area, the walls a sunny yellow with white... more

Hotel is in great location near the main plaza. There is a festival on Sunday night in the plaza with vendors selling jewelry, t-shirts, paintings, many more. The restaurant downstairs served a great breakfast. The room and bathroom was a bit small but adequate. If you spend most of the day sightseeing as I did, you'll just need the room... more

Hotel looks great and is comfortable enough. Staff is uneven. Some were very helpful and some were awful. They didn't call a taxi the night before my departure when I requested them to do so for an early flight that I wanted to get on to avoid the hurricane that was predicted to hit that evening. They instead hailed an... more
