I have just returned from Merida, Mexico where I stayed in the Hyatt for two nights. I was rather disappointed in my stay. The amenities are nice, but they do not out weight the bad. I could not set the thermostat in my room lower than a particular setting. I called the front to ask for assistance, and the temperature... more

This place really deserves to be higher on the Trip Advisor scale. I can see how it does seem like a regular hotel at first. However, it is the staff and location that made the difference. First, the staff helped find local Yucatan food restaurants, taxis and the staff at the lobby bar were delightful to talk to. All of... more

Had an exec room for about $110 USD. Very comfortable room and bed. Good A/C. Bathroom could be nicer, but it was fine. Had to use room service twice for a late dinner. Several Yucatecan specialties were among the choices, and it was fun to try them. Executive club breakfast was "expanded continental" -- nice selection. Location is good. Walkable... more

Merida is great. Clean , reasonable and beautiful. The Hyatt regency is a wonderful experience. Rooms were clean , staff professional food was great. Location is wonderful. From check in to check out I cant say enough about it. After a day of touring or shopping it was nice to come home to a clean room . My only complaint... more

I stayed for one night in this hotel and I loved it. The food was amazing, the room was clean and big and the lobby looks really nice. It's close to shopping areas and I felt safe walking around the city at night. more

Stayed here for one night in January 2008. Highly recommend getting a regency club room at this hotel. In addition to getting a club lounge the room itself is considerably nicer, and slightly larger, than the regular rooms at this hotel. My 4 star rating is for the club level only. I'd drop it all the way to a 2... more

On a price value relationship, the Hyatt Merida was one of the top 2 hotels of the 6 hotels we stayed at in our recent romp through the Yucatan, Campeche, and Quintana Roo. This assessment was based on 3 nights at about $105 US per night for the basic floors, and a party which took up 4 rooms. The rooms... more

The Hotel was big and soul-less. The room was a good size and clean but the furniture looked pretty cheap. My big complaint was that the plan of the hotel meant that the pool was built in the shade. As we wanted to spend a week by the pool over christmas we were really dissapointed. We then moved to the... more

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Merida in Paseo Montejo Blvd. The hotel is absolutelly fancy, the rooms are big and well equiped as the best of the Hyatt hotels in the world. I stayed in the executive floor that have a lot of nice amenities in the bathroom and a marvelous view of the city. This... more

Before we headed to our first time visit to Merida, I used Travel Advisor to find a suitable place to stay during what would be a 2 week stay. While many recommended experiencing Merida with a local flair by staying at Bed and Breakfast places, I was concerned that if the beds were not comfortable at these establishments, I would... more
