Other reviewers are correct: the quality for the price is quite good. You're in Mexico (and not in some fancy resort surrounded by gringos), so you can't expect fancy European touches--the latest in comfortable beds, high-class fixtures & art, etc. If you keep your expectations in check, you'll find that the hotel is very charming and that the rooms are... Quality for the price was outstanding. The staff though weak in English was outstanding. They even helped save a late night parking spot on the street while we went to an evening concert in nearby Santiago Plaza. Even though it was on a very busy Calle 59 and just a few blocks off the periphery road, we heard little of... More

Though the experience was not terrible, I guess you could do much better than this. We arrived in a group of 5, having reserved many days in advance. They told us there was a problem in their system and so we did not have a room (it was supposed to be a double and a triple room, but only the... More

We booked this hotel online - 2 double rooms for ourselves and our daughter and boyfriend, so basically 2 couples - 50's and 20's. We have travelled widely, we don't need frills and flounces, our bottom line is safe and clean. The hotel advertises free parking, swimming pool and city centre location. It boasts beautiful rooms decorated in period style... More

The rooms are nice, and also the hotel is just on the pictures. But the staff is not to friendly nor helpful. You should pay everything right aftre you have ordered it (you can have the feeling, they do not trust you). The hotel is a bit far from the city centre on foot (like 30 mins). The breakfast is... this is an excellent place to stay, complete with pool and terrace, ideal for exploring merida and its surrounding area. the hotel staff were all very friendly and welcoming. i really don't understand the negative comments made by some other guests because we found them extremely helpful and informative. i would definitely go back there!

We stayed at Casa de las Columnas for several nights during our visit to Merida and were very pleased with the hotel overall. It is in a wonderful historic building with lots of character. The courtyard is lovely and a wonderful place to relax and read while waiting for your travelling companion to get ready or for escaping the heat... More

As part of a 3 week stay in Playa del Carmen, we rented a car and drove (about 5 hours) on the toll highway to Merida in Yucatan State. Casa de las Columnas is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the central square. It has a charming courtyard for relaxing and breakfast, traditional rooms with antique furniture, and... More

This hotel was sipmly the worst place I have ever experienced. We were scheduled to have 3 rooms from Dec 28-Jan 2nd. Seeing that there are only 9 or so rooms and we were occuping 1/3rd of the hotel that they may just treat you with a little respect. Well that was sinply not the case. We were to have... More

Amazing rooms, each unique and beautiful, and quiet Great customer service Pool may be small but with small kids this was a bonus... More
