Awesome hostel! Great location, with lots of food options nearby. Breakfast is always generous and delicious. No one goes hungry & they make omelettes on request. Rooms were clean, although we had no physical door to our 6 bed female dorm. Oscar the tour guy was the highlight, he ensured a memorable trip out to the caves, cenotes & to... More

The building is just on the main square and it is amazing!!!!!..The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good ( even though I didn't understand how it worked some guest had cooked eggs and toasts, but I was not offered any..). The girl dorm is very sweet, pink and finally no bunk beds!!!..a bit more expensive respect on what... More

Pros - The breakfast: The breakfast at Hostal Zocalo is borderline legendary, a scrumptious buffet of bottomless fruit and homemade omelets! I would pay just to come eat here in the morning! - The staff: The staff is super nice and very friendly! They will help out regarding any questions you have about what to do in and around Merida!... The hostel is a a beautiful old building right on Merida's Zocalo. The staff were good, people were nice and rooms and bathrooms were clean though the bathrooms seemed a little old and the toilets can be a bit exposed. Wifi was fast, although only available in the (rather comfortable) lobby area. As everyone else has mentioned, breakfast was awesome... More

This hostel has really nice reception people who are willing to help you all the time. Breakfast was good and you have time between 6 and 10, it had yogurt, fruits, cereals, toasts, gem, coffee and milk. For the price paid, beds and sheets are fine. Towels are free. Location is really great, it's just on the square. There is... More

Perfect location in the center of Merida. Breakfast was very good and filling; all you can eat fruit, nuts, yogurt, bread; plus an omelet and beans. The rooms are very clean, and laundry service within the hostel is reasonably priced. The men's bathroom was a little crusty and the warm water runs out quick in the shower. My girlfriend said... Really nice location right by the zocalo and open chilled out colonial building. It was fully booked when we arrived so they gave us a private room for the same price as a dorm which was really cool. It had a balcony overlooking the park and cathedral. Toilets weren't great though, they had shower curtains for doors. Good location for... More

Great option in the centre of Merida. Right on the zocalo, a perfect base to explore the inner city. The breakfast was excellent. All the fruit you could eat plus an omelette and beans. Male toilets were unclean- urinals didn't flush, shower curtains for the toilets, which sort of draped over you when sitting on the toilet, shower pretty average.... More

Decent hostel. Excellent location on the main park (no view of it though). Giant lockers outside of rooms, can fit 2 backpacks in there. Most of the dorms were single, not bunk beds. Bed linen was very stained but clean. Big bathroom, no hot showers. Apparently the boys bathroom had no privacy. Great breakfast with huge variety and omelets. Free... More
