If you want to feel at home away from home in a spick-and -span private house , go and stay there. The rooms are all different and cater for different tastes and purposes, there is a nice little pool in the courtyard, the kitchen offers you everything you need to make your own meals and the owners are very helpful at... Pretty little room, pool, friendly staff, wifi, tv. All we needed for our stay in Merida. Breakfast was a little more basic than usual so don't plan for too much there. More

I've stayed at this posada on 4 occasions (several nights each stay) and have found it to be full of charm. Meriam and Enrique are wonderful who go out of their way to ensure a pleasant visit and make one feel at home. The pool is very pretty and the patio offers a pleasant place to take advantage of the... More

Good spacious and clean rooms. The courtyard and rooftops are lovely and it has a small pool. Meriam is so kind and friendly which made it feel like coming home (although we stayed here for only 2 nights). They offer excursions (Celestun is a tip) too. You can take coffee, tea and purified water for free in the kitchen and... More

Casa Alvarez is a beautifully colored, centrally situated, small familyrun hotel. The pool is a welcome cool-off. The family is very helpfull and there's a communal kitchen, with free coffee, tea, purified water and even cookies. Excellent value for your money. More

Our family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed 3 nights in this wonderful relaxing Casa. The hosts Myriam and Enrique were the most friendly people always making sure that everything was OK. Myriam was a great source of information on what to do in the area, where to eat and even where to get our clothes washed.... More

We had a great time here with Charlie and Myriam. They are friendly and welcoming and keep the hotel in good shape. The location is close to the main square and the hotel is very secure. We had not planned on it, but we stayed in the penthouse. It was a great experience--a view of the cathedral and the city,... More

My partner and I stayed in Casa Alvarez for two nights whilst backpacking around Yucatan. Enrique and Miriam were most welcoming and courteous, upgrading us to the rooftop "penthouse" room at no extra charge. We had a huge king-sized bed, plenty of private space including a comfy seating area inside, an outside verandah with dining table and chairs, and all... More

Great location, very close to the city center. There is a wonderful little pool for an afternoon dip. Very friendly owners and a very cute mute kitty named Charlie. The rooms are big, pillows a little hard, and bathrooms are clean. The kitchen area is nice and there is plenty of purified water. The little fridges in the rooms are... More
