Just got back from another great breakfast. The staff, the food and the service are the best in town. Treat yourself to a great breakfast and head to Casa San Angel, The huevos Motulenios, they are the best in town...

Hotel Casa San Angel was fabulous from the moment we walked in the door. From the open courtyard, and the two adorable housecats, to the great King sized bed, it was a delightful experience. The hammock in the room was a nice touch as well! The entire staff did everything to make our time comfortable and memorable, with a special shoutout... More

Wonderful hotel very quiet and full of ambience. Rooms and hotel exactly as shown on their web site. All the staff were so helpful and knowledgable about the city and what it had to offer. The best boutique hotel i have ever stayed in. Don't miss the beautiful pariots in the lobby.

Great location, at the end of the Passseo and walking distance to city historic center. Hotel was clean and owner was on location every day that we were there. Rooms were large and bathrooms were clean with a good size overhead shower. Lovely seating areas outside of bedrooms with bottled water always available in the hall. Main floor of hotel... More

I'm in agreement with all the positive comments below. The hotel is beautifully designed, decorated, and maintained, a treat for the eyes as well as for the rest of the body. Even the bathrooms were special, with elegant (granite?) sinks and pebbled shower. We especially appreciated the little restaurant, which served excellent food (including excellent oj and coffee, we well... More

Pros: engaged owner, eager to please staff, nice restaurant (ambience, food, service, beverages, THE COFFEE!, exquisite architecture, comfortable and spacious bed & room, pleasing lobby. Good value. Centrally located. Cons: the lack of an elevator may be considered a disadvantage, but we soon became used to the 38 steps to our room. We weould definitely stay here again on a... More

I can only second what the other reviewers have so ably said about Hotel Casa San Angel. It's charming, clean, esthetically pleasing, cool, beautifully located, quiet, whimsical, and very welcoming, with excellent staff who strike just the right note to make the guest feel comfortable without being overwhelmed. We parked our rental car right across the street (legally), checked in,... More

The hotel was comfortable, welcoming, and visual treat. Visually, it nicely balances the fresh and modern with the classic colonial. The lobby is a three story central courtyard with elegant furnishings, abundant plantings and vines, Rousseau-esque jungle murals on the walls. It feels good walking in the door (and it's about 10 degrees cooler too). Speaking of being cool, our... More

Hotel Casa San Angel is a small, friendly, boutique-style hotel. The location is great. It is literally nestled on a small street between one end of Paseo Montejo (Merida’s grand main avenue) and the start of the bustling downtown area. Paseo Montejo is a great place to stroll and soak up the culture of Merida, many good restaurants and bars... More
