Up front, I'll tell you that I am a reporter at the same paper where Zina Vishnevsky, who owns Zina's Guest House, also was a reporter. I knew her as a colleague before she retired and moved to the island (at least part-time) and bought the guest house. The guest house is NOT in the middle of the touristy parts... more

My boyfriend and I came to stay at Zina's for our spring break and truly was perfect. We flew into Cancun and took the ferry over to the island. On the first morning Zina took us for a tour of the island on her golf cart and pointed out places to go and great places to eat. We rented a... more

My sister and I just spent another week at Zina's. It's been 3 years since we've been able to make it back but we just won't wait that long again! First of all, the experience of just getting to Zina's from Sacramento, CA is a trip in itself! I've stayed in resorts and I have to say that staying in... more

My third annual New Year's stay at Zina's was the best ever...that's hard to say because every time is great. This time I stayed 17 nights, December 25-January 11 in the downstairs unit. As soon as I opened the door, I felt like I was home again. I find this apartment to be very comfortable and very suitable to my... more

Zina's guest house is perfect for vacationers who prefer to avoid tourist traps and offer themselves a more authentic experience. Zina greeted us with welcome mojitos and introduced us to the best island treasures--from the yummiest eateries to the friendliest dive shop. Staying in La Gloria, a local neighbourhood, gave us a much more real and complete look at life... more

If you want to stay in an authentic Mexican neighborhood, Zina's guest house is perfect, and very reasonable. The room had air conditioning, a microwave, coffeemaker and stovetop as well as cable TV. There is a small courtyard to enjoy the beautiful weather as well as a rooftop deck. Zina provided directions to all the amenities on the island including... more

I enjoyed Zina's Guest House so much the last time that I returned for a two-week stay in May. As usual, Zina was the best possible hostess. She really wants people to enjoy staying in the "hood" instead of in the usual tourist areas. She knew local restaurants which were cheaper and just as yummy as the ones downtown. I... more

I have stayed at Zina's Guest House a number of times and highly recommend it. The location is on a main street in La Gloria and is an easy walk to the Carribean side of the island or the bay side. The bus stops right across the street about every 20 minutes or hail a cab for your adventure down... more

My husband and I usually stay at the Bucanero, but due to a change in our usual January vacation we visited Isla during Christmas and the Bucanero was full. We heard rave reviews about Zina's and thoguh we would give it a try. We have been travelling to isla since 1999 and I have to say this was hands down... more

Staying at Zina’s Guest House is like being at home! The small apartment I had for two months was outfitted with everything from microwave and toaster, blender a double hot plate to a good supply of towels. Since everything from yogurt to fresh chicken and other meats is available within a couple blocks you can save money for a fancy... more
